The corpse Princess
Beastfolk | Twenty-One | FemalE |
Chaotic good | WarriOr | CLaw of the beastfolk |
appearance, Alice has long white hair that are slightly wavy at the end, with long curvy gazelle horns sticking out of the white bundle. The girl has pierced two holes in her right horn, two red earrings run through them. She stands at 5 foot 7, not including her horns. Her eyes are the same shade of crimson as that of her horn-rings, and her skin are as pale as her colourless hair. It seems that her bat heritage had outdone itself, because Alice has three pairs of wings sprouting out of her back. They weren't obvious when she was young, but as an adult, they can't be concealed and Alice stands out everywhere she goes. Another beastly feature her heritage gave her is the tail that hovers behind her when she walks. The horned girl can usually be seen donning a black vest, with a gray-striped collar shirt underneath. During formal occasions, such as a meeting with the higher-ups, she would add a tie to her outfit. She also wears a long black and red skirt with a cutaway at the front, which reveals another shorter pleated skirt underneath. To go with the outfit, Alice has on black boots with little bat wings sticking out at the side along with thigh-high gray stockings bearing the same striped pattern as her shirt. | personality, Alice already has enough presence due to the abnormal wings she has so the girl often keeps to herself. Quiet and reserved, Alice prefers to scrutinize the world from a distance. At first glance, people often misinterpret her as cold, professional and somewhat emotionless. That's because Alice has learned to survive in the cold harsh world by not betraying her feelings to others. The winged girl does have the diplomatic skills required of a beastfolk Second, and she is not afraid to speak up for her ideals or when it is necessary. Alice is a very capable beastfolk, she is not afraid to enter an unfamiliar scenario, and would immediately start gathering whatever information she can about the situation and proceed to take control of it if possible. Even if she may seem rude and controlling to others. She thinks fast and acts fast and is always on the lookout for any danger despite prior training. Contrary to popular beliefs, Alice is not emotionless nor cold, it's just a mask she puts on in public. She is very well capable of loving someone and caring for them. When the girl is with people who she's comfortable with, her other lively and cheerful side comes out. The girl is also a perfectionist and most definitely has a case of OCD, which may be very taxing since she serves the Half-Dragon Representative. It may not seem like it but Alice actually has a lot of respect for Taksaka, to the point that it is near to idolizing. Due to her past, Alice became obsess with ridding the world of injustices and discrimination, which was what led her to willingly become a Second. She is ready to defend what she believes in, even if it meant bloodshed. She would sacrifice lives if it meant it could achieve the greater good. |
history,
Heritage: Alice was born in a small village near the outskirt of Ba'dagar full of beastfolk like her. Beastfolks with heritage like hers are really powerful, so they are often discriminated against because of their lack in numbers. Alice's parents and several other of their kind came together and created a village where they could call a safe haven for beastfolk like them. Both her parents were loving people and so are the other villagers, they could tell that when Alice was born, she was going to be a powerful beastfolk, so they took good care of her.
However, they did not expect that there are people out there who seek the power that Alice may one day possess, and so came the people in large numbers and forces. They caught the village by surprise by setting it on fire in the middle of the night. The bat-winged beastfolk were vastly outnumbered and they couldn't so much as resist. Alice was still an infant, less than a year old, her parents spent their last breath protecting her from the fire, shielding her from the chaos with their strong and huge wings. When everything finally subsided, the little Alice was found, in the middle of a cold and ruined wreckage. It was genocide with little Alice as the lone survivor.
Childhood: Fortunately, Alice was found by people who are decent enough to bring her to a village where they found a home for the bat-winged baby. It wasn't hard considering many people would love to raise a bat-winged beastfolk. The couple who took her in didn't even mind the fact that she was the only survivor in a fire that killed her whole village. Her foster parents was kind to her and she spent 3 years of her life there until her foster mother died of a disease and her foster father lost his life to bandits on a business trip.
Alice arrived at her second foster home at the age of 4, this time, the family was nice to her as well. However, no one saw it coming and the whole family lost their lives to a flood during a family vacation, Alice was the only one who escaped the terrible fate. After that, she was sent to another foster home, but the tragedy repeated itself and Alice was forced to move. A series of unfortunate events occurred to every family who adopted Alice, usually leading to death of most if not all of the family members. Rumors started spreading because it really isn't normal when every family who fostered the horned girl were deceased while Alice was still as good as new.
The Corpse Princess: Due to all the tittle-tattles about Alice bringing bad luck to anyone who adopts her, no one in the village dares take her under their roof anymore. Of course, these villagers were not heartless enough to just throw a girl that has barely reached teenhood out on her own devices, so they decided to let Alice live alone in a empty resident at the village, and the villagers would bring her food and the necessities she required.
Alice started studying on her own, the villagers told her it was better if she didn't venture outside often and suddenly, the girl has a lot of free time. She would request for a book or two when the villagers came to visit her and she would spend most of her time reading, absorbing knowledge about the world around her without experiencing it herself.
That was when she found out about necromancy. Alice was no mage, she wasn't born with the ability to use magic but she found the topic fascinating and she started trying to find out everything about it. She thought that maybe, just maybe, if she tried hard enough, she would find some answers to why everyone who she had lived with ended up dead.
Whispers got out that she was requesting more books about necromancy and the children in the village started gossiping about the bat-winged, red eyed girl living alone in that house in the village who must be a necromancer. They would play dares to get to her and throw stones at the windows of her lodging place. The children started calling her The Corpse Princess and even the villagers that know about her notorious past and weren't familiar with her started referring to Alice as that too. Rumors about The Corpse Princess circulated to even some people inside the city-state of Ba'dagar had heard of the title The Corpse Princess.
Rumor Has It: Rumor has it that if The Corpse Princess entered your home, you will be infected with the curse that she carries, and your family will be doomed. That curse started when her birthplace was set on fire, and the dead ones left their curses on the lone survivor and she can never find happiness or a place to belong because she was supposed to be with them, she was supposed to be dead, along with all the other of their kind. People say that all the corpses she has seen and left behind added to her curse, making it worse and worse. She was supposed to be dead but she lived and that's why she leaves a trail of corpses wherever she goes, she is The Corpse Queen.
But of course, none of that is verifiable, because people talk and they add false tales that clouds the truth.
Goblins Attack: To add oil to the fire, on Alice's seventeenth birthday, the village she had been residing in for the last 5 years was attacked by goblins. It was her birthday so the girl went to the city-state for books and supplies to celebrate her own birthday. While the village was planning a surprise party for her, goblins that had been frequently attacking that area fell on the village. The goblins came strong and hard and the tiny village never stood a chance.
By the time Alice got back from her trip, There was nothing left but corpses and ruins, again. At first, she felt nothing but numbness, but then she saw the evidence of the surprise party that the villagers was planning, and that was when the pain hit her.Alice was overwhelmed by anger and anguish, and she hunted down the goblins hideout. In a moment of rage, she destroyed the entire cave where that group of wretched creatures were before they even had time to know what hit them.
Zeta: Alice gave all of the villagers proper burial and left for Ba'dagar. She spent a year traveling around the city-state and learning from various people, though she never stayed under anyone's roof or even an inn for fear that terrible fate will be upon those she visits. At first, people feared her, they've all heard about The Corpse Princess and the total annihilation she brought upon the goblins and the village that was destroyed. But after a little interaction with The Corpse Princess, they realised she was just a young girl who lost everything, though no one still dared let her in their homes.
When she was eighteen, Lord Zeta found her. He heard rumors of The Corpse Princess and he wanted to meet her. House Zeta had always served as a Second to the beastfolk representative and the current Lord Zeta was heirless and ancient. He would past away anytime without anyone to continue the Zeta lineage of Seconds. When he heard about Alice, he figured she would be a great potential Second so he hunted her down and requested her to be his adopted child.
Alice was reluctant, she did not want the kind and old Lord Zeta to encounter a terrible fate, but he insisted that he didn't believe in things like curses and he was a strong man. It took a lot of convincing but Alice ultimaltely relented.
Appointing the Claw of the Beastfolk: Lord Zeta let Alice bear his family name and taught her everything he could, and the things he couldn't, he hired someone else to. Alice became knowledgeable about politics and many other things. She was intelligent and a quick-learner so it wasn't tough. The girl also understood more about her heritage and her powers, she also received lessons on martial arts and the way of wars.
The bat-winged beastfolk followed Lord Zeta to various important occasions and everyone knew about the beastfolk with three pairs of wings that Lord Zeta had adopted and he made it pretty clear that he wanted The Corpse Queen to be his successor. Alice doesn't know how many times she has thanked the Hero that nothing tragic happened to the Zeta family except when Lord Zeta finally died of old age a year ago. Alice was immediately contacted to become the Second, and she, of course, accepted, for she wanted to carry on the will of her dead foster father and Shehas the resolve to become a Second and make the world better.
