Personal
Appearance
A very attractive young man with soft features and blond hair. He stands at average height and has a rather thin build that he blames on his family’s lack of income – they don’t have a lot of excess food lying around. What little they do have goes to his father these days. Age before beauty. He prefers to stick to practical clothing. Most of the time he’s in a blue tunic, black slacks, and a blue cloak – nothing too fancy. He’s also got a penchant for belts and wears far too many of them.
His eyes are probably his most striking feature. They’re pale purple – the same color as the patch of hair that falls between them. That’s obviously not a natural occurrence. He lost a bet and is thus stuck dying it bi-monthly. Many who know him comment that he’s sort of dainty for a boy, but he takes it all in stride. If refusing a warrior’s lifestyle is all it takes to make you dainty, then he’s content to be dainty.
There’s a long, ugly-looking scar positioned just above his stomach. He makes a point of keeping it covered at all times and is very reluctant to reveal how he received it. Most in the city are polite enough not to pry.

Personality
The first few times you encounter him, Robin’s usually rather quiet. He prefers listening to talking and won’t speak up until he’s got a pretty good idea of what you’re like – or until you get close to his father, who is easily the most important person in his life. After that he’ll be much friendlier. He’s charming and good-natured, if a little cowardly. When the going gets tough, he’ll usually get going.
…At least, that’s what he’d like you to think. He’s worked hard to convince his peers that he’s relatively harmless in order to avoid suspicion. Luckily most of Dracon already has a picture in their mind of the mysterious “Grey Fox” and it doesn’t look a damn thing like Robin. Most imagine that he’d be taller, or more intimidating – or, you know, actually a man.
The few besides his – or rather, her – father that know Robin well know her as a reserved, melancholy individual who keeps all of that darkness at bay by packing her schedule. She’s clever, resourceful, and easily bored. She’s also not quick to anger, but it would be very, very foolish to test her.
History
Robin’s not a young man at all – she’s a young lady. Born Edilhaid Madline de Claramond, Robin was at one point a noblewoman. Her family was well respected in Dracon their commitment to charity back in the days of Dragoon. Unfortunately in the time between then and Edil’s birth, they took a turn for the worse. Still as wealthy as ever, they weren’t nearly as altruistic as they had been once upon a time. While they were definitely still staples in Draconian society, you’d have been hard pressed in those days to find someone who genuinely liked them as people. As the youngest in her dwindling family, Edil was blissfully unaware of this for most of her childhood.
But then the Claramonds crossed a line.
Edil was too young at the time to really understand what it was that her family did, but she’s since been told that they were Pact Mages – Cultists. They worshipped some monstrous thing that had, in return, given them magical abilities. She can’t imagine that they wanted them for. It wasn’t as if they did much. They didn’t go on adventures and they certainly didn’t need to work to maintain their way of life. Maybe that’s just the nature of power – when you have it, you want more of it. They’d apparently wanted it so badly that they’d practiced all this cult nonsense right under the noses of their peers. They were not caught, but nor did their story end happily. One day while en route to a gathering in Andor, they began to feel ill. Within hours both mother and father experienced two of the quickest transformations from human to Horror in recorded history. Driven mad by the quickness of it and not at all equipped to handle the change, they flew into frenzy and turned on their coachmen, their servants…and Edil.
Luckily that was then Galen – the men who could become her adoptive father – came into the picture. He was coming from Dracon and happened to run into the remains of their traveling party just in time to save the girl, who had sustained a number of terrible injuries during the attack. He took her home and cared for her to the best of his abilities. By some miracle, she survived. She was however extremely traumatized and unable to recall the events that had brought her to him.
It was around this time that news of the Claramonds reached Dracon. The scandal rocked the city and there was a long search for Edil, whose body obviously had not been recovered. Her living relatives in Andor lead the charge, donating whatever they could to bring her home. Galen was aware of this, but he just couldn’t bring himself to part with her. How could a family that had produced a pair of Pact Mages love her more than he could? And so he kept her. It was easy – in her shellshocked state she asked very few questions. He cut her hair and bleached it until it was too blond to have anything to do with the dark-haired and violet eyed Claramonds. Instead of Edil she became Robin – his son.
Theirs was a peaceful life from that point on. He raised her as if she really was his and she grew up happy, if a little bit hungry. Broke as they were, Galen may or may not have encouraged her to pick the pockets of unsuspecting travelers. He may have reinforced her general distaste for the government of Dracon by reminding her over and over again of how her family never bothered to look for her following her parents’ transformation.
And maybe – just maybe – that resulted in the birth of the Grey Fox.
It didn’t happen overnight, but it sort of felt like it did. In a matter of years, she and Galen went from peasants to semi-respected merchants. These days you’d consider them rich if you knew how much money they actually had hidden away in various places, but they don’t make that information available for obvious reasons. As far as Robin’s concerned, her crimes are victimless. She’s stealing from the rich and powerful in an already corrupt city. They deserve it for what they did to her back when she was Edil.
…and Galen is, admittedly, beginning to wonder if he made a mistake. The guilt that he expected to fade after a few years is stronger than ever today. It is entirely possible that his lies caused this sense of recklessness that will very likely get her captured or killed someday. It all began as part of an effort to keep them fed and yet she has family in Andor that wants her. They could keep her so wealthy that she’d never want to need to steal anything ever again.
But she’s Robin now. That’s all there is so it.
She’s better off misinformed.
