Reina du Calastro
Nightwalker
ElF | 20 | Female |
Lawful Evil | Warrior | Bow of the Elves |
appearance, Reina, being an elf, naturally carries a slim figure. With her genetic makeup she also has platinum blonde hair, cropped short and braided for the sharpening look that it gives her face. She’s found that the cut generally makes people take her more seriously, despite her age. Her pale skin is also characteristic of an elf, she’d be damned if she didn’t look every bit the part of the rich, important, aristocratic girl that she is. As for attire, Reina usually opts for dark clothes and many skirts. The combat skirt is one she’s a huge fan of. | personality, Reina’s very proud of her heritage, and thusly tends to be very fond of all things graceful, noble, and elvish. She’s a typical perfectionist, and takes her work very seriously. As the bow of the elves, she is dedicated to combat, and is extremely strong both mentally and physically. Her sense of pride serves her well in her role as a sort of “champion” of the elvish people, but may corrupt her judgment in thinking clearly and diplomatically, as well as giving her a sense of arrogance. Reina, though prideful and dedicated, isn’t without a dark streak. Her sense of honor and loyalty is skewed in the sense that she’d do anything for her close friends and state. There have been numerous occasions when some unsavory business has occurred after dark, always to better the lives of herself, her friends, or her race. Rumours have been spread about these events, of course, but to a girl with the pride and status of Reina, she’s sure to shut them down quickly. |
history,
Reina was born into a wealthy family, aristocratic elves who were very important people. As a child she was raised with the views that elves were the best at everything, and given extreme amounts of training in the areas of combat and the arts. Living that kind of life with no siblings to speak of, Reina was a rather spoiled child. Despite this, her parents truly loved her unconditionally, and wanted her to do well in life. They arranged for her to begin training to take one of the roles of Representative to the Elven state when she reached an acceptable age.
Reina, upon starting this training, was shocked at the withdrawal of her parents’ coddling in comparison with the harshness of combat training given to her by a full time instructor. Having been spoiled and waited on for the vast majority of her childhood, she really didn’t know how to properly adjust to the lifestyle. She floundered around with the skills she was supposed to be learning, becoming marginally proficient in sword use, defending, tactics, but lacked any skill whatsoever in one area. Archery. This unbeknownst to her parents, she received a gorgeous bow for her 16th birthday, custom crafted by one of the most skilled artisans that the elves had to offer. The gift, obviously, was a blow to her pride, but she ignored it, and continued to sulk about her slow progress.
Not soon after her birthday, she received notice that both of her parents had been killed in an attack on the wealthy by a group of enraged peasants. Her parents, her loving parents, were now gone. As their house had been burned in the attack, the only memento that Reina now had from her parents was the new bow she’d received. A bow she couldn’t use.
In her rage at her parents’ death, she’d taken the new bow out of the center where she’d been training for a number of years and set off into the night. Her target was the local beggar’s market, where protests about the state of poverty had been taking place recently. With the bow, she’d systematically murdered each and every one of them, whispering to herself before every shot, “Target practice for Mom and Dad”. After that night, she’d worked almost exclusively on her bow skills until she’d been promoted to bow of the elves. There had been whispers about conspiracy, about how she’d only gotten the position because of her parents’ murder. Those whispers had quickly been shut down, sometimes violently. In time, she earned a name that she shared with the bow she’d gotten 4 years prior: Nightwalker.
