‘Too much of a good thing’ was a phrase Sasha was aware of but had never put much stock in, possibly because she had never been in a position to have too much of anything let alone something good, but she was finding a new appreciation for the saying now. As much as she loved fighting when she saw the Goblins turn their attention away from Hilda to join the Skeletons in their efforts again her she could only sigh. She was beginning to feel a little overwhelmed by all the attention to be honest. While not much stronger than the Skeleton’s and arguably being easier to fight due to their small stature, the Goblins brought an entirely new threat to the fight in the form of their poisoned blades. Even before Hilda called to her she knew it was her top priority not to get so much as scratched by their crudely built weapons. Luckily for her the Goblins were faster than the Skeletons in reaching her, having a sense of urgency that the undead lacked, making it easier for her to dodge them. She deflected the first Phantasms blade with the back of her gauntlet, the sound of metal striking metal echoing briefly in the small cave system as she pushed the weapon away from her with her superior strength. The second Goblin came in immediately after and, unable to bring an arm around to block, Sasha dove away into a roll to avoid the attack. This evasive manoeuvre unfortunately moved her closer to the Skeletons and when Sasha ended her roll she found she was already under attack. Keeping to her crouched position Sasha raised her arms to protect the back of her head and neck with her gauntlets while the undead lashed at her with their claws. Pounding more than clawing at her Sasha felt the impacts pulsing through her flesh through the leather armour, adding to her growing collection of aches and pains. The number of enemies was gradually decreasing, more due to Hilda’s actions than her own, but the longer this fight went on the more damage she would sustain in the process. If it was just this fight then it wouldn’t matter, they would win and it would be over, but they needed to go deeper still into the cave and neither of them had any clue what awaited them. They needed to end this sooner rather than later. Keeping her head down Sasha glanced up to where Hilda stood, looking at the weapon she held more than the woman herself. It stung her pride to admit she was out of her depth, but her desire to see this to the end outweighed that at the moment. “Burn them!” ---- Remaining HP: 29 Action 1: Block attack from Goblin B Action 2: Block attack from Goblin C

I wield my blade ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ for the sake of everyone Hilda didn't waste much time considering strategies at this point. Sasha was being swarmed and had nothing to handle groups of enemies. Along with that, the girl realized her predicament and called out for a finisher. Perhaps this would serve as a good lesson for her to count more on her defense in the future. For now though, she had to get out of here alive and Hilda was going to make sure that happened. The runes on her halberd began to glow once more as she aimed the tip of the halberd at the group, flames bursting out in a cone in front of her. The fire passed just over the crouching Sasha, lighting up the rest of their foes and burning what little life they had left in them.
Using her halberd to knock away the burning bodies, the halberdier approached Sasha and instead of offering a hand to help her up, held out a hand with a vial clutched. It had a small label bearing a cross equal in all four directions, the universal symbol for healing and aid. It was a limited resource, but the girl was in much more need of it than Hilda and it was a potion meant to do good. "Here, drink this. It will help mend your wounds and dull your pain."
The flames from before began to die down as the bodies were reduced to charred remains, bones turned to ash and flesh seared. Their numbers were growing the further in they went, so the two were likely close to their destination. Hilda's gaze turned to examine the two paths before them. There was little to see in either before they turned in another direction, though she had an idea to try and guess which way they were needing to go. Picking up two small stones, she gave a strong toss and threw one down each path.
The sound of stone on stone echoed, and then silence came from one path while the distinct rattling of bones came from the other.
"Found them. Are you prepared Sasha?" her tone was relatively the same as before, but the way she spoke was more concise. The latter half of that combat shifted her out of being a mentor and into a protector; efficiency was going to triumph, and attempting to teach was going to make them less efficient at this point. Sasha had likely learned something from the last minute, so it would have to do. The heat of the flames passing close over her head prickled her skin and lit up the cave around her. She kept herself ducked down while it lasted, her bowed head staring at the rocky floor illuminated by the fire; she saw a few drops of blood beneath her, the red droplets catching the orange flames, though she couldn’t tell if it was hers or if it belonged to one of the Goblins. It certainly didn’t belong to Hilda.
The flames ended and in their wake left no sound. Sasha looked up and saw Hilda approaching, the older woman stopping in front of her and holding out a hand. She was about to refuse the offer of help, about to deny her obvious injuries and say she was fine, when she noticed the small vial being presented to her.
Giving the halberdier a smile which was somewhere between thankful and wry Sasha took the vial and stood under her own power. As she held out her hand she noticed her gauntlets were covered in a fine grey powder, reaching up she pulled a strand of formerly blonde hair in front of her face and saw that it took was caked in grey dust; ash.
“Well,” shaking her head and sending a cloud of dust into the air Sasha’s grin widened. “I think that went pretty well, don’t you?”
If Hilda didn’t hear her however Sasha would not have been surprised. The representative wore a serious expression and was staring down one of the two branching paths before them. As she stopped and listened, picking up the rattling of bones, she understood why.
At Hilda’s question Sasha looked down at the vial in her hands. While wearing the gauntlets it was all she could do just to hold on to the small object, so she grabbed the stopper in her teeth and pulled it loose. Sasha drained it of its contents in one gulp and upon swallowing felt the potion burn a path to her stomach.
The burning turned into a warmth which settled in her chest and almost immediately she could feel her aches and pains begin to fade away as if they were never there. While not completely healed she knew that the process had already begun and she would not be surprised to find after this was over that she did not have a single mark left from the wounds she had taken so far.
Letting the now empty vial slip from her fingers Sasha stepped forward to stand next to Hilda at the mouth of the path. “Always.”

I wield my blade ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ for the sake of everyone Once Sasha gave the affirmation of her readiness, Hilda immediately took off. Moving quicker than one would think she'd be able to in her armor, she dashed down the path where the bone rattling came from, and as they got closer the chittering of a single goblin grew louder. The grip on her weapon subconsciously tightened as she prepped herself to strike as soon as they arrived, but what greeted them was a defensive wall of skeletons. Beyond was a single goblin in a black cloak, waving its hands over a crudely drawn array on the ground. In the faint torch light surrounding it, the array was likely drawn in blood.
"Kekeke, arise and do my bidding!" the Goblin spoke in the common tongue, as the bloody array lit up and materials from other corpses within the circle began to merge together, forming a much stronger undead than the skeletons they had faced until now; this one was a Ghoul, somehow created through several Terran corpses merged with magic. This was what was known as a Goblin Summoner, but even they weren't known to wield this level of magic. A flicker of the flames revealed the entire chamber to be littered with dried corpses, the stench long gone from their bodies.
"Defend first," Hilda spoke quickly to Sasha before aiming her halberd at the skeletons, the runes lighting up once more and flames shooting out. Skeletons lit up once more, and the flames helped further ignite the torches. Amusingly enough, the cloak of the Goblin Summoner was caught and set aflame, causing it to begin freaking out in attempting to put out the blaze and unwittingly burning itself further. A second wave of the flames shot out from the halberd to roast everything in the room even further.
When the onslaught ceased, the only thing unfazed by the flames was the Ghoul. Completely unharmed by the fire, it remained in place for a moment, gaping eyesockets directed at the various bodies on the floor. "That one's dangerous, avoid it for now." Watching the Ghoul come into being was enough to make Sasha sick to her stomach. Seeing the remnants of multiple corpses melt and come together into one solid humanoid form, watching flesh knit itself together over muscle over bone, features of all the Terrans used in its making represented in the amalgamation that now stood before them. Sasha had not missed the other bodies, or at least bits of them, strewn around the rest of the cavern. Despite Hilda’s request that Sasha focus on defence first it seemed to be a bit of a moot point at the moment; following two consecutive bursts of flame none of the undead nor the Goblin seemed eager to try their luck with the two warriors. Only the newest undead seemed unfazed by the flames but it was too engrossed in taking in its new surroundings, specifically the corpses littering the cave, to have noticed them yet. Sasha used the time they had been bought to consider the situation. Like before the majority of opponents they faced were Skeletons, individually weak but as she had learned to her detriment troublesome in larger numbers. Despite being overwhelmed by them earlier Sasha did not consider them a danger, being easily dealt with so long as she took care not to be surrounded by them again. The new undead was unknown to her, though a cursory glance showed that it appeared more or less like a Terran aside from its hideous visage. She didn’t expect the ghastly figure to be much tougher than a Skeleton though the presence of actual muscles in its body suggested its attacks would carry more weight. Beyond the wall of bones Sasha could see the Goblin necromancer patting out the last of the flames from its black cloak. Despite all appearances to the contrary the small but intelligent creature was the biggest threat; if they allowed it to continued summoning more of these undead using the rest of the cadavers in the cavern their chances of winning decreased significantly. Course of action decided Sasha did something that would likely earn her the ire of the older woman and charged the defensive barrier of Skeleton’s between her and the Goblin. As she grew closer Sasha pushed off from the ground and extended one leg towards the nearest undead, aiming to plant a foot in the centre of its sternum using all of the forward momentum from her charge. The Skeleton rocked back from the impact only to be caught by the other Skeleton’s behind it only to not be given a chance to recover as Sasha threw a punch at its skull. “Make me a hole and I’ll deal with the Goblin.”
