DECLARATION OF FUTURE HEROES
It is once again time for the Declaration of Future Heroes! A grand tournament hosted in Dracon by the three Representatives with a bracket for each race, fighting to prove themselves the mightiest of fighters. Each match is a 1v1 match that continues until either KO or the thread reaches 20 posts; at 20 posts whoever has the greater amount of health will win. However, nobody enjoys the player who lands one hit and then just sits in a corner defending the whole time. It is expected that you will be attempting to score a KO, and if we have reason to believe you are simply trying to time the match out, then we will step in and you will lose the match by default.
So what do you get for winning? Well there are three winners; one for each bracket, and so one for each race. Each winner gets a special training quest with their respective Representative. This is a two-person quest with the Representative and the winner run by each Representative, and with a much larger XP yield than a normal quest for its difficulty.
Who can take part in the tournament? Basically anybody who wants to show off their abilities in a fight. There is no class restriction and obviously not a race limitation. Some characters might have a better chance than others, but such is the nature of tournaments. It's not impossible to bridge that gap though by playing smart. Since each race will be fighting its own kind, you will be facing those similar to yourself, making the difference in skills somewhat smaller. The exception is Representatives. Representatives cannot take part in the tournament due to their involvement in the reward.
What are the rules? As mentioned, the fights go until one player reaches 0 HP or the thread reaches a total of 20 posts. These fights will use the combat system to keep things fair, but beyond that if it is legal within the combat system then you can do it. It is a tournament designed to show off your skill in a fight, some just go about a fight differently than others. Items used during a fight in the tournament are not subtracted from your inventory afterwards but you are still limited in how many uses you would normally have of the item. A special magic is in place over the fighting area so all attacks that would normally inflict potentially lethal harm are mitigated to bruises and superficial harm. There is no risk of dying so any and all tactics are viable. Permanent companions may not be used but a summoning spell to temporarily conjure one is permitted. However, only your health matters for ending the match, so it doesn't matter if your summon is at full if you get reduced to 0.
POST HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE TOURNAMENT. INCLUDE SOME BASIC INFORMATION LIKE YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME, CLASS(ES), RACE, AND TOTAL HEALTH.
