Rune had been away from home longer then usual. She had a hard time with this one, and actually had hurt her leg pretty bad and didn't want to come back hurting and have Ulrich worry, so she hung around town until she felt better. Her leg still hurt slightly, but it was a lot better then before. She was glad to finally get home, as she saw the farm get into view, she felt relief in her heart. She missed Ulrich, as she always does. Rune was really disappointed with the amount of gold she was bringing back, it wasn't much for the time that she was gone. But hopefully Ulrich wouldn't mind, it wasn't like they were to bad off. He was happy with his weird skeleton workers. Honestly, the kid was just a little weird, but Rune loved him for it. As she finally reached the farm gate, she saw the skeleton workers, working as hard as they normally do, she gave them a small wave, in which they returned. Ugh, she wasn't sure if she'd ever really get used to this life that her brother had thrown her into. Reaching the door of the actual house, Rune opened it, but Ulrich wasn't in site. Assuming he was either out in the back fields or in another room, Rune dropped all of her bags next to the couch, and sat down in the nearest chair, finally letting her muscles relax. It was troublesome to manage a farm. You spent months just preparing to have a farm. You had to tend to the soil, follow natural weather conditions, and learn to fight off local pests. Then keeping the crops alive long enough to bear the fruit of your effort. This only became that much more of a hassle if you introduce livestock into the mix. Ulrich was thankful he had a crew of farmhands that could help him out. It made his life so much easier, to the point where he might move into livestock into the near future! He wandered back toward the cottage. It had been so quiet there without Rune. She was off on another one of her quests to get gold. Ulrich didn't have much interest in things like that. His purpose was to remain here, keep the farm in good shape, and make sure she had a cozy place to return to. He didn't mind his role. He enjoyed nature and the hard work got easier over time. Plus it was a great use of his magic that he would have otherwise tried to keep a lock and key on. Who knew reanimated remains would make for good labor? Ulrich was pleasantly surprised to see Rune resting on a chair. He looked confused to see her at first. "R-Rune?! You're finally back! You were gone for so long. You should have let me know you would be coming back today. I would have prepared a feast~!" He was obviously a little confused, but happy. "Just wait right there! I'll bring you something to drink. We've only got water, tea, and some fruit juices."He moved toward the kitchen, still well within earshot of Rune, and rummaged around. He had some dried fruits and meats, but nothing meal worthy at the time. He would have to check the storehouse for what kind of crops he still had left. He was perfectly happy with a daily diet of bread and potato soup. He knew Rune liked a little more variety in what she ate along with some meat. Surely he had something around here for a meal.
