After Castiel and Crowley opened the doorway to Purgatory they didn’t think of the ripple effect that it would cause. The Leviathans were sucked up inside Castiel along with the souls and held on even after the souls were released. They are now taking up bodies throughout the country with one goal in mind, to rid the world of humans and make it theirs. They destroy everything in their paths with no regard of others. They are driving everyone to Mystic Falls to make the elimination of them easier as well as to have an ample food source.
The dead monsters that called Purgatory home have been finding their way out through the doorway. Vampires, shifters, werewolves and all manner of creatures from people’s worst nightmares have returned to stake their claim sending the town into complete chaos. The hunters must band together to try and take out as many as they can and save as many human lives as possible. Though with the threat of the Leviathans their main goal is to find a way to seal the door and rid the world of them.
Little did they know that one soul managed to hold on and escape. A witch by the name of Aaliyah was cast into Purgatory by her rival centuries before. With a new body and her powers returned she is set on a course to find the man from a vision she had that can stop the ripple effect and close the door to Purgatory with the Leviathans inside. The problem is the man she encounters isn’t the one she’s looking for, but in fact his vampire doppelganger. The problem with that is that Alex wants to kill his doppelganger thinking that he is impersonating him. Therefore, Aaliyah will have to stop him and make him see how vital Dean is or else they will all be doomed.
