Michiko KuboshidaInquisitive ArcanistGeneral
Race: Beastfolk Age: 20 Gender: Female Alignment: Neutral Good Class: Mage Occupation: Explorer
Personal
Appearance
Michiko is a cat-type beastfolk. This manifests in long fuzzy ears with a tuft at the point, fur on her arms and legs resembling gloves and boots and a long tail. Her hair and fur share a shade of pink, the fur short itself and her hair cut in a bob. Pads on her hands and feet, darkened, calloused skin, ensure traction. For a mage, she is surprisingly well fit and hearty, bearing a light tan. Her formative years were spent with plenty time working, and it shows.
Typically, she wears enough to be modest, and thats it. She prefers dressing for warmer temperatures, eschewing what might be “traditional” mage attire. Outside very specific circumstances, you would be hard pressed to see her in long, flowing garments.
Personality
Michiko is an odd mix of curious intelligence, lean physicality and controlled confidence. Once something catches her eye, its not uncommon for her to investigate in full. This can range from a battery of questions, or tests that could last well into the night. She exalts in her athleticism, gladly crawling up walls and running across rooftops. Her gifts and her teaching in them has given her a healthy self confidence. She is what she is, and is more than happy with it. If one were to compliment her, she would not boast. She would agree.
In sum, she is many things which are often enough incompatible in the minds of others. Those expecting a learned sage are thrown by her lack of decorum. Those who see her raw exuberance are baffled once she asks them something they never considered. Those who see her inquisitiveness as a lack of certainty are stunned by how she owns her self worth. Michiko is, in short, one of the best people in any given room and damn proud of it.
History
Calmwood is a small village in the Terran Plains. Michiko was born there to a family of fishers, and life was simple. They taught her how to watch, how to catch and hunt. For a time, she took things at face value.
But she was a child, and children are curious creatures. She had questions, and often no one had any answers. It became a full blown eccentricity when she looked up from the simple lake and wondered what made the stars.
When her magic began to manifest - Cooking the catch by staring at it, electric lights bouncing overhead - her questioning nature took to it. Before her parents decided on anything, she went to visit local recluse and retired mage. In exchange for some housekeeping, and the occasional salmon, he agreed to teach her what he could. Whatever he gave her, she devoured. Later, though, she came up with questions he could not answer: Where did mana come from? If everyone had mana, then why could only a select few shape it? How did it work? Why could Phantasms wield it so naturally? Why were they so fundamentally our enemy?
Eventually, her mentor could teach her no more. Fundamentals were easy to pass on, but truths had to be learned. Anyone could be told something, but to find it for oneself, to explore what it meant was to make it a part of you. Calmwood was too small for her, by this point. So she bade her farewells, grabbed some salmon for the road and left to find answers.

A couple things.
Your appearance and personality are...really, really bare. They don't really tell much about your character and I'm a bit hesitant to call them paragraphs, so try to flesh it out a bit more and give some more details and elaboration.
The other thing is that you're trying to make a Hero in your backstory. If this guy is truly a Hero, he'd be a known entity and there'd be a tale behind him. Before I can really accept him as part of your backstory you'll need to submit him for the lore of the world. There is a custom submissions board you can use for this. If you'd rather not, then you can simply make him a retired, knowledgeable Mage that taught her. The latter seems like a much more likely possibility than her happening to live by a Hero that's never called on ever anymore, but if it is absolutely mandatory that he be a retired Hero then you'll need to submit his lore for approval first.

I've redone the appearance/personality and smoothed out the backstory. It wasn't critical, I just wanted to see about giving a shout out to an old character I used to play.

Okay so I'm not sure why now everything is center aligned, and it's not conducive to reading the app. Fix it so it's not all center aligned. I could go in and do it myself but I don't want to mess up other parts of the app. EDIT:APPROVED
