Michiko's primary motivation is the pursuit of knowledge. Small bits - Forgotten lore, secrets, spells - Aren't bad, but those aren't what drive her. What she truly wants, deep down, is the understanding of deeper things. World fundamentals. Things like:
-Why is magic not available to everyone if everyone has the life energy, aka Mana?
-What are Phantasms, and why are they such primal enemies of Terrans? What is their motivation?
-What lies beyond those places yet unexplored?
-Who was Dragoon, and was his overcoming of terrific odds truly as simple as it seems?
So yeah. Her main quest is going to be poking at the frontier of civilization and what is and isn't known.
Friends: She isn't terribly discriminating. Given time and camaraderie, she can befriend anyone who isn't out and out evil or just plain a jerk. That said, she does appreciate those willing to think: Asking questions, observation, interpretation, so on. You don't necessarily have to figure stuff out in displays of genius, its more about going beyond the obvious and the comfortable. Self reliance and healthy confidence are also bonuses.
Lovers: Going off friends, its about trust. Its also not going to be an epic "OUR LOVE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS" sort of deal. You'll be two people who respect and appreciate another enough they'd rather be together for a damn long while. As for how it works? If your interested, say so. Michiko doesn't believe in overwrought courtships. Though she may insist on at least one good dinner. Also ear scratches. And hugs.
Enemies: Evil, callous and otherwise petty behavior lands one here. She despises Dragon Cultists - One, for moral reasons. Second, they're idiots. They've bound themselves to the service of an entity proven to be antagonistic toward all Terrans. And they've done so by taking in a power that can be removed or brought against them at any time.
