Aria Oceane
The Arcane Huntress
BEASTFOLK | SIXTEEN | FEMALE |
TRUE NEUTRAL | MAGE | ADVENTURER |
appearance, In terms of her Beastfolk heritage Aria is considered one of the lucky few to be blessed with pulchritude as the visible traits of her bloodline are in few; despite her ears and tail being clearly discernible, many consider them to be endearing rather than unappealing. The lustrous white pigmentation of her unblemished skin and her sky blue hair are considered attractive by many who catch sight of her, and many find it effortless to inadvertently be captivated by her sky white gaze. Naturally as a Beastfolk who is descended from a type of lion her canines are especially sharp, her ancestor animal also made coherent by her sharp nails. The clothing over her slim body consists of some leather short shorts, layered below a green overcoat, of which a leather harness is layered over. Around her waist is a standard leather belt where she retains her quiver, usually containing arrows, strapped tightly to her right side alongside other pouches and a sheath for her hunting knife adjacent to the leather quiver. The harness is used to attach her breastplate, as well as to holster a bow on her back. | personality, Aria has a very capricious personality though this may vary depending on who she is interacting with and the current situation she is in. At times she can be exceedingly energetic, peppy and playful, then at other times she may remain quiet with a completely nonchalant look on her face. At times like these it can be difficult to discern her true thoughts, though if a person knows her well enough they could make a well educated guess. The girl has her own moral code that she follows. Things such as lying should only be done if it cannot be avoided, she generally follows the rule that she will aid those who aid her and only harm those who harm her. Most of her moral code encompasses her own self-preservation which is to be expected when raised to be a master survivalist. Then again there are exceptions to this, such as if this person was close to her. Aria will most likely not take any sides in conflict if it doesnt effect her own or her friend's survival. In combat mercy becomes all but null when fighting a dire enemy. |
history,
It was her eyes of resplendent azure white that confirmed and deemed her the name and title of 'Aria', meaning 'pure sky' in their native language, the name bestowed upon the now reincarnated hero of their village.
Aria was not born on the large continental landmass known as Terra Heroum, instead she originated from a secluded island to the north-west of Cydonia. This unnamed island was extremely inhospitable due to the perpetual tundra that it was cursed by, though this isle was not completely devoid of life. A rare species of Beastfolk inhabit the island who consider the sub-zero temperatures and consistent snowfall to be a part of everyday life, this type of Beastfolk had managed to adapt to the frozen enviroment against all odds; Aria was born into this clan of survivalists.
Unlike the others of her clan, however, Aria was born -exceptionally- special. Despite their transcendent mastery of survival none in the clan had any aptitude for magic, it was somewhat believed by the clan that in exchange for this expertise they had sacrificed any magic potential they may have had. This was true for all within the clan... for all except one. The story as told to Aria, they would not let her forget; The clan had not always flourished as well as it does today. Countless years ago we were the prey, it was the animals of the island who hunted us, we were weak and without magic. Every day we struggled to stay alive, not sure of who would fall victim next. All of our kind had given in. We were on the verge of extinction when our saviour appeared, her hair azure blue and eyes that shimmered as white as snow.
She defeated our enemies with her glowing arrows of light, she revived our hope, reinvigorated our spirits, with her guidance we found our footing and before long we could walk; though just as suddenly as she had appeared, she vanished.
Ever since the disappearance of their saviour a child would be born into the clan once every century who resembled their champion, able to wield the same magic with an even greater proficiency for bows. It is believed by the islanders that this individual is part of a repeated reincarnation cycle. In spite of that none of the reincarnates could recall their past lives, but were still trained to be master survivalists and archers furthermore treated like royalty. What they chose to do with their gift was to their discretion. Some remained on the island, whilst others...
