appearance, Presto's Usual Outfit | Presto's Secondary Outfit Presto's most distinguishing feature is her shock of hot pink hair, which is usually contained neatly in a bun that sits underneath her signature tall marching band hat. Despite appearing short, the performers hair is actually long and flowing. Presto's silky tresses are her pride and joy- she keeps them well maintained. Much to her dismay, Presto lacks growth in other areas and is diminutive in stature, standing in at about 4'11. However, looks can be deceiving- due to her occupation having a high physical demand, she is toned and lithe, and deceptively strong. The songstress possesses delicate, feminine and almost child-like features. Although while usually seen wearing a charming, disarming smile- this is all part of her ruse to disguise her conniving and manipulative ways. Additionally, Presto stands out from the crowd due to her rather unique style of dress. Commonly attired in a powder blue and white marching band uniform with matching hat, she likes to switch up her style often. The majority of her dresses and outfits are lacy and unsuited for combat situations. The sole purpose of her costumes are to appear as cute as possible- with the exception of her signature hat, which she does utilize in combat. | personality, On the surface, Presto's personality is more or less what you'd expect from an entertainer. Bubbly, cheerful, and hyper, the girl possesses an unshakable optimism and boundless energy. Seldom seen without a smile, the performer is quite exhausting to converse with due to her hyperactive, jubilant nature and tendency to speak a mile a minute. Generally, Presto is kind and enjoys lending her assistance to others, and while she does help people for the purpose of spreading joy for the most part, she also has less altruistic reasons for doing so- she is quite the attention seeker and has an adoration for the limelight. The musician is yet to learn the concept of 'personal space' however, and is affectionate even with strangers, often to the point of attaching 'cute' nicknames to those she takes a liking too. Despite appearing empty headed due to her tendency to ask random questions and come up with silly, if not downright delusional explanations and theories, Presto is intelligent and hard-working. The minstrel demonstrates great resilience and perseverance, even in the face of adversity- but she can be hasty and bursty on occasion, often charging in to situations without much thought. Just as a (self proclaimed) 'all-singing, all-dancing, perfect-in-every-regard bona fide hero-to-be' should be, she is of course charming and delightful, and can enthral a crowd with great ease. Simply put, Presto is a born performer. Her hobbies include, dancing, singing, learning instruments, collecting cute ornaments, and baking cookies. Due to her young age, she also possesses very idealistic views. Just like any other, Presto does have a flip side. Accustomed to getting whatever she wants, the musician is extremely spoilt, becoming petulant and childish if she gets told 'no.' In the case of being rejected, Presto will first of all go on a charm offensive and use all of her feminine wiles to get the object of her desire- secondly, she will threaten to scream and have a tantrum, and thirdly, she will resort to violence and death threats. She takes the word 'no very seriously, and as a personal insult. The girl isn't one to sugarcoat, and while she could be described as 'brutally honest' she sometimes rubs off as rude- mainly because she says whatever is on her mind without taking others feelings in to consideration. Presto firmly dislikes prudes and kill-joys. Behind the angel face, the girl is caustic, sarcastic and scathing, Presto has a sharp tongue. And though, you might not be able to see it in her appearance, she has quite the cold, manipulative heart and quiet devilry lurking beneath the surface. Being a mischievous minx, Presto enjoys pranks and messing others around. Alongside her greedy and manipulative nature, the performer is also arrogant and self-assured, and dislikes being underestimated. She possesses a steadfast belief that she could be the strongest hero to ever exist- yet, she is insecure about her childish form and lack of development in the breast department. She displays great envy over older and more curvaceous women. |
history,
There was nothing really that special or unique about Presto's birth. No enchanted shooting stars or ancient magical prophecies, she was just a gifted girl born in to a long line of magical blood. Her parents were avid explorers and scholars, and enjoyed a mutual love of travelling to the farthest reaches of the world in pursuit of esoteric knowledge and forgotten magic. And whilst travelling with an unborn baby in her belly was hard, her mother didn't let that stop her. The young girl was taken all around the world and had seen many sights that many adults would never dream to gaze upon- but, never the less, the young Presto preferred playing with her blocks or her dolls. That was until the family decided to visit a museum in the city of Cydonia, and she heard.. it. The beautiful sweet beat, the ecstatic melody, the deafening high of the symphony.. Oh! Sweat surrender, it was heaven in the form of a melodic tune, the delicate twinkling of a piano played by the curator's hands.
Sure enough, the budding little performer decided to check out the scene herself. Escaping the tour group, Presto decided to attempt the piano on her own. A few presses of the keys there, and a little tippy toe half-hearted attempt at reaching the pedals here, and sure enough, she had a little group of people for an audience. The thing was, instead of attracting a round of applause, all she got was a tap on the head and a 'Hey little girl, are you lost?''
Long story short, her parents decided to eject themselves along with their daughter out of the tour group so that they wouldn't risk her breaking free again and making another attempt at the world's worst piano recital. That night, the child was restless- she felt the keys calling her. Presto made a decision that she would learn the piano no matter what.
The family continued travelling, but it soon became clear to her parents where Presto's heart was invested. She would often draw out the piano keys on paper and attempt to play them. Her behaviour grew worse and worse, so they decided to reach out to a very special person.
The following week, on her 8th birthday, she met her Grandfather for the first time. Presto's grandfather took her in, and took her back to the city of Cydonia, where she moved in to his large home. It was hard without her parents at first, but she quickly adjusted. It was here that Presto learned the truth about the Dupree bloodline- music was running in her veins. Quite literally. Her farther's side were composers. and had dedicated their lives to music, so much so, that they were able to channel mana through music, which allowed them to create a branch of spells all their own which involved the manipulation of sonic sound energy.
Over the years, Presto was educated in dance, music, singing, and a whole array of instruments- just about any kind of performance art you can imagine. She mastered them all effortlessly (with the exception of the kazoo, which is the bane of her existence.) However, she was also taught in the ways of combat and carrying on the family lines trademark music magic.
On the eve of her 15th birthday, her family returned from their adventure and attended Presto's first ever solo live event- which happened to be at the very same museum where her passion had begun. Before the show, her grandfather approached her and said: 'Always remember, keep aiming for the highest note, there's no limit to what you can do with music.' He gave the young Presto his prized pendant, and she took to the stage.
Waiting for her on that stage however was not a piano, but a violin- an instrument she had never practised before. And while she looked at it like it was an obvious death trap, her grandfather's words encouraged her and she took a deep breath and started playing alone.
No notes. No sheets. No guides. She just.. played.
And when Presto was done, everyone was beaming, her mother was in tears and her farther was clapping and smiling. She had never felt such euphoria in her young life.
..But after that night, she never saw her grandfather ever again. No death, no drama, he just.. vanished without a trace. And while this left the girl confused, scared and devastated.. she recalled the words he had told her. There was no limit in music and she needed to aim to do her best.. because the earth may crumble, the seas may dry, the fire may fade.. but the symphony of life will continue to play. So, Presto decided she would live up to the words of her grandfather and let the world hear what she had to play.
When she was 16, she left Cydonia and began to travel from place to place, performing her music and taking on odd jobs to appease her grandfather.
