[Takes place on the Outskirts by Ba'Dagar, during the Night.]
"Damned Goblins..."
The Dragon-kin Representative uttered under his breath, hand faintly touching a notable footprint left on the ground. Or rather, a notable set of footprints, all trailing in a single direction. The tracks were muddied by long paths through them, obvious indications of things being dragged. Hopefully still living things, but Taksaka was a realist. Very rarely did Goblins bother taking prisoners, and when they did, they didn't remain prisoners for long. His face scrunched momentarily in disgust at the thought, before he shook it away. Nothing to be done except what needs doing now. He stood from a kneeling position, turning to face the four whom had agreed to come with him for the task; Not the usual party Taksaka would bring, but he didn't dare bring Guards, or worse, his seconds, away from the city at the same time he was absent from it.
"I assume everyone is properly prepared?"
He examined those who came with him one last time before they began. If ever Taksaka had to describe a group as "rag-tag", that's probably what this group qualified as. Two were beastfolk-- One whom he didn't recognize by the name of Brielle, and the other a woman who's reputation sometimes preceded her. While he'd never met Dervla before now, she was quite infamous through almost all of Dragoon as a notoriously shady merchant and businesswoman. It almost surprised him she came to do something as a menial as slaying Goblins herself, but then, he really had no room to talk considering he was a Representative and had managed to find himself here too. And whatever she was doing to keep her business going was clearly working for her, so Taksaka had no room to judge-- Even if that same business made her not trust the woman as far as he could throw her. His other two companions were not of Beastfolk origin, but he was glad of their help nonetheless. Aun and Rowan, if he recalled correctly. It wasn't terribly odd to see non-Beastfolk in Ba'dagar, and they seemed entirely capable of taking care of themselves, so Taksaka had no reason to turn down their help.
Attention shifted back towards their destination, as faint cries and shouts could be heard echoing from within. A cave, the outside covered in faint scribbling made of mud, slime, and things Taksaka would rather not dwell on. The markings indicated a goblin presence within the cave, a territorial way of marking it, meant to keep outsiders away. It also made their lairs easy to spot if you knew what you were looking for. As the noise from within the cave intensified, Taksaka made a lowering motion with his arm. At the moment they were hidden behind some brush a few dozen meters away from the Cave, but Taksaka was never one to take chances.
"Dim or extinguish any lights-- We don't want them to see us coming until we're in."
The last thing they needed was to be filled with poison-tipped arrows before they even made it inside.

"Naturally."
Aun spoke in her usual soft but coolly proud tone, as she gazed at the night sky while she traced her finger on the bowstring of her composite bow. She wasn't personally fond of fighting on the dark of night but she understood the purpose. Raiding a Goblin hideout was best either in large numbers or when you had the advantage of the unknown, the vermin were disorganized and cowardly. Besides she figured the Beastfolk with their animal senses probably felt at home stalking in the night, they were part animal after all.
Slowly her gaze shifted to her companions, there was some resignation in her otherwise aloof glare. Though she was glad to witness the sheer prowess of the Taksaka the Greyskin, representative to the beastfolk as well as the honor of fighting by his side, she really felt disgusted with her situation. Working as a mere sellsword for a handful of coins puh! If she hadn't been robbed of her steed and most of her possessions then Aun would have gladly volunteered for this job and would have given no second thoughts to rejecting the reward. Killing Goblins was a pleasure and you could say her and the ancestral sport of her family. The thoughts of being a mercenary and working with them was repugnant indeed for Aun.
Still she was a warrior and a cavalier to boot! and charging into battle would at least make her forget her situation for the moment at least. Though she wished there was another elf among her companions, fighting next to beastfolk and a human was a new experience and certainly one that she did not look forward to, since to her at their hearts most tended to be filthy thieves, history and experience had made that belief root deep in her heart.
"I don't see any sentries from here, when the vermin see us it will be to late." Aun said in a rather matter of fact kind of way, there was no way in the Heroes name that she'd fall in this pitiful place. Her bow and saber would make short work of any scum that dared cross her path.

| "You mean we needed to bring light with us?" Brielle asked incredulously. Her naturally superior eyesight meant she needn't usually bring any form of light with her. "I guess I missed that notice." She said laughing quietly. She checked her daggers and her potions one last time. Both of her blades were sharp enough to cut skin and cloth so she hoped that would be all the goblins were wearing.
That was when she noticed the scuffle marks on the ground. While the elf with them talked battle tactics, Brielle worried about her family. Sidling closer to their fearless leader she asked him a question. "Those scuff marks on the ground don't really mean that there's a prisoner correct? It could just be them dragging in a pig, you know, prey. It's likely not a person, right?" Though her face seemed calm, the tone of her voice would give away that she was worried. She hadn't talked to her family directly in some time and had no idea if any of them were missing.

◄ THIS TIME I MIGHT JUST DISAPPEAR In all honesty, Dervla didn't need to be here right now. She could just as easily sent someone to do this work. But, it's been awhile since she'd.. ah let's cut the crap. In the end she just wanted to meet the beast rep. Sadly, he ended up being a lot less to look at then she thought and overall Dervla was super disappointed. She was hoping that maybe she could find a corrupt politician, but as far as she could tell he wasn't all that bad. How lame.
Well, she was here, and though she really isn't the strongest, she had a lot of potions strapped around her waste and the least she could do was share them if needed. Flipping her hair back she finally started paying attention to their leader. Just to be told to dim any lights, and her bright pink wings fluttered in annoyance. Feeling as if she was personally targeted, like she could turn off the natural glow of her wings. Sighing, she tucked her wings against her back tightly. Then she rummaged through her bag and pulled out a cloak that she threw on herself.
For now, she'd just keep her mouth closed and do her job. After all the Beastfolk rep isn't someone she wanted to piss off. It's not like she's secretive about her dealings, if she pissed him off it might be the wrong move. Sighing, she silently wished that she had just sent a lackey to do this dirty work.

Being in a craggy wasteland, hiding behind a bush trying to track down some filthy goblins was never Rowan’s idea of a good time. Why would he be doing exactly that then? Simple. The opportunity to fight alongside a member of the high council was too tempting to pass on. Honestly, why someone with such political power would embark on a low-rank quest like this baffled the swordsman but he knew that beastfolk were weird, weird creatures. Their team wasn’t large at all; other than himself there was only representative Taksaka, two fillies yapping about the mission , and a more serious looking one that didn’t seem nearly as interested in the endeavour. That other male was obviously capable of dealing with a couple of Gobs in combat, and the elven miss seemed fairly strong herself. She was tiny but her behaviour outright denounced her as one of those "knightly" types, very likely trained in formal combat and capable of dispatching nuisances like these. The other two seemed less suitable for the task but it was fine; They might be carrying some gold or a valuable something that could be looted off their corpse when no one was looking. It wasn't like they'd miss it and it suited them right for biting off more than they could chew, Normally he'd think it a shame for good looking gals to pass away, but manes and tails were a big turn off and he would hardly miss a couple of them. Ba'Dagar was already overflowing with their smelly kind.
Rowan was sitting a bit behind, not too concerned about the cave in front of them. Holes filled with hostile critters were the most mundane thing in the world and glancing it more than once would be a waste of time. His sword was already unsheeted, laid next to him as he awaited for the others to get prepared and move in. His impatience grew further and between picking his nose he grunted:
“So? Are we doing this thing or not? I think I’m getting grass fleas from sitting here here too long.” Regardless of what they were going to find inside, finishing the job quickly meant getting to it faster and that was something they should aim for.

A brief nod was the only response most of his group got from Taksaka- An affirmation of Aun's assessment and Dervla's attempt to suppress the glow of her wings. Rowan's impatience irked him, but he let the comment pass. No use getting irritated now. He outright ignored Brielle's joking response, only deigning to respond to her when she approached and inquired about the tracks to him personally.
"It's possible, but unlikely. Goblins rarely need to drag pigs when they travel in groups."
It was not the most comforting response, but false hope would do them no good. His voice betrayed bitterness-- To Taksaka, whatever or whoever left those drag marks was likely already dead. He hoped he was wrong, but did not put much faith in that hope. He gave Brielle a sidelong glance, hoping she wasn't too troubled but what they might find inside. It would be incredibly bad if she started freaking out on them in the middle of their lair, after all. But anyone who would come this far hopefully had the stomach for whatever they'd find. His gaze turned away as he crept closer to the entrance of the cave. Aun was right-- There were no sentries posted. Clearly they didn't expect anyone to come lurking into their lair in the dead of night-- After all, that was their MO. The half-dragon motioned for the others to follow him, and began the trek into the cave.
It was not a quick pace they took into the small lair, but this was mostly because they were walking in blind [figuratively, as some of them could almost literally see in the dark] to the layout of the cave. It was certainly more expansive than Taksaka had first anticipated, with numerous gaps and crevices that seemed to stretch endless into the pitch black of the cave. Only a single way was illuminated by dimly lit torches, barely visible enough to be called even that. Apparently the Goblins didn't trust themselves not to get last down here either. It was fortunate that they didn't seem to consider that other people would follow them as well. The party of five wouldn't have to follow the path for long before they heard loud noises and cries, one followed by another. The smell of roasting meat would also strike them as they approached a small enclosure, lit much more brightly than the rest of the cave. At the center of the enclosure was a large bonefire, surrounded by seven goblins all yelling and prancing about: Too pre-occupied to see the small party of Terrans slip into the cave and take shelter behind some nearby rocks, hidden from the light of the fire.
"Focus your attacks on a few of them; If we can take enough down before they realize what's happening, they'll be too frightened to fight back properly."
Atop the fire lay what remained of a cooked pig, large chunks of it cut away and probably long since eaten. Now the tiny green skinned phantasms argued back and forth over whom would receive the majority of what was left. So busy were they squabbling that when Taksaka emerged from behind the stones they hid behind, they had scarce a second to reach for their weapons before the half-dragon was among the two closest of them, striking them both with a claw each. The tiny gremlins screeched as they were shoved to the ground by the attacks, clutching at their now bleeding wounds as one began to feel the familiar feeling of poison seep into it's veins.

"All the more reason for us to move with haste." Aun spoke reassuringly to Brielle, shifting her red gaze to keep scanning the surroundings. Satisfied with no sign of sentries she prepared herself for the battle ahead. Though she briefly rolled her eye at Rowan's comment, as expected of a human he was a tackless barbarian.
When the group started to move Aun moved quietly, an arrow was already knocked and she could fire at the first sign of trouble. The cave turned out to be a cave complex, though fortunately the Goblins were rowdy and they were able to locate them fairly quickly. Though Aun felt that they would be at a disadvantage should there be any form of reinforcements hiding in the other side passages. Their course of action was evident, they needed to take out all the Goblins dining before they could flee into the darkest recess of the cave, where they certainly would have more of an advantage.
And finally they tracked down their quarry, a band of seven Goblins. A number like that would pose no great danger and if at least half her companions were capable then this should be a speedy encounter. However, they had to be careful and not let any of the Goblins escape. The party was in their territory and doubtless the Goblins would know the cave better than they did.
Taksaka's strategy was a reasonable one, if they managed to take some quickly enough the rest of the vermin would be unable to mount a good fight. Aun moved out of her cover, pulling her bowstring back and knocking off an arrow at a Goblin, it hit its shoulder piercing it. Damn this poor lighting!
"Fortune favor us, death to the vermin!"
Aun announced, her tone like that of a commander. Goblins were cowardly, the ambush and the following confusion had to be used efficiently.
Aun took two more arrows from her quiver and in one single motion fired both arrows, each hitting one of the goblins Taksaka had engaged. Aun was trained from a young age to master all the weapons of the elven kind. From swordsmanship, to using the bow and riding a Cydonian horse. Though her preferred weapon was her saber, Aun was still an excellent archer and in particular both with the blade and bow Aun was famous for being able to swiftly strike multiple opponents.

| Taksaka's words did little to comfort Brielle's worries. "Yeah, I suppose you're right." She said, slightly despondent.
Still she followed the dragon beastman and the elf warrior through into the night until they came across a small campfire. The amount of goblins around the fire were not too plentiful, but still there was enough to take out the party if they weren't careful.
Taksaka and Aun both attacked head on initiating combat. With not much else to do Brielle pulled out her daggers and sneaked in behind the two warriors. With her weapons firmly grasped she attacked the nearest goblin.

◄ THIS TIME I MIGHT JUST DISAPPEAR Dervla could care less about some tracks. She just wanted this whole thing over and get her reward. As they came up on the camp, she watched as the three went for the nearest goblins. She knew there wasn't really anything to be worried about when it came to the others, they were a lot more combat oriented then her.
So Dervla decided that going for one of the farthest ones and keeping it distracted might actually make her more useful, as the others can handle the rest. So, she pulled out her sewing needles and quietly went to the back, where she picked out the farthest goblin and quietly snuck up on him.
When she felt like the time was right, she went and attacked him, hurting him sligtly. She never was the best at this whole combat thing but hopefully she can at least do a bit.

For humans without supersight, mega-ears, or ultra-noses, traveling in the dark wasn't such an easy task. Even when trying to follow a party of adventurers, trying not to fall into a pit or some other possible death trap was sort of an Imperative and it slowed down Rowan's movement considerably. When he caught up with the rest of the team, the ever focused Party Leader had already started their assault on the creatures. Goblins sure were some ugly monsters, and seeing their blood and gore gush out by the light of that campfire wasn't exactly a pretty sight either. One could see the terror and surprise in the eyes of the filthy little imps being slaughtered; they really weren't happy about their new company.
Everyone had already engaged the green creatures in combat, but Rowan refused slug behind. Having a few meters of distance between him and the nearest Phantasm he took balance and charged into the enemy. The Lioness lady had already attacked that one so, holding his sword with both hands, he lunged himself towards it as well, slicing it horizontally and finishing off the damn thing. "Damn straight! First kill!"- Rowan growled into the air with pride, the blood of the dead Goblin still oozing from the blade's tip. Before less than a second had passed, he turned his attention to another nearby enemy and proceeded stab it with his sword's edge.
"Time to die, trash!"

The surprised goblins stumbled about as the ambush was sprung, and one Goblin fell before they even had a chance to retaliate. Scratching and grasping for their weapons, they barely had time to grab their small spears and swords of wood before the attacks continued, gravely wounding several of them. But their disorganized panic quickly turned into a frenzied charge. The Goblin Taksaka knocked to the ground quickly jabbed upward at the Beastfolk, the tip of it's spear digging barely at all into his scaled hide, but enough to lightly draw blood. Two more Goblins, one currently with Aun's arrow sticking out of it's shoulder and another whom was merely the closest to where the brawl began, ran forward at the dragon-kin, jabbing their spears again into the half-dragon. A low grunt emerged from him, but not much else indicated the two tiny wounds left by their makeshift spears, which only barely could pierce his scaled skin. He was more worried about what the other goblins were doing.
The one Dervla attacked reared back at her, screeching in pain from it's tiny wounds. It lashed back at her, jabbing it's poison-laced spear towards her. The other three goblins had rushed the remaining group of adventurers, choosing to circumvent the imposing beastfolk to attack the rest of the party. Aun was hardest to reach, in the back raining arrows upon the Goblins, so they instead raced toward the other two nearest: Two striking out toward Rowan while the last of the Goblins choose to take a swing at Brielle.
"Be careful not to let the Poison touch you! Aun, Rowan, protect the Rogues!"
It made more sense for those with armor to take the blows: But Taksaka did not know if any of his companions bore the same immunity to poison that he did, so any strike could be potentially grave. Turning back to the three Goblins circling him, he grasped one of the nearest ones with one claw raking into his throat. He lifted the tiny thrashing greenskin before using his other hand to leave a hand-sized hole in the Goblins chest, carving out a good portion of it's ribs and lung. He dropped the gurgling goblin onto the ground, refocusing on the two remaining goblins, whom circled him from a bit of a wider distance, hesitant to come back into range of his claws.
[Due to being ambushed, the goblins do not attack anyone this turn. Next turn they begin to counter-attack.]

The "battle" had begun and in the span of a few moments two goblins fell. Her arrows shots and the combined effort of her companions gave Rowan and Taksaka the chance to make short work of two of the Goblins. But still it seemed like the vermin had the valour to fight back, this suited Aun just fine. Though visibility was poor, from her high position Aun could survey the battle and take a pick of her targets in a way that her allies would be able to find yet another opening to strike the Goblins down. It was not yet the time for Aun to draw her blade, besides those Goblins barely had the value to be met in direct battle.
"The Battle is not over yet human, forward!"
With one quick motion Aun drew an arrow and shot it at the sickly looking Goblin, it seemed like despite their natural resistance to poisons, the claws of Taksaka were potent indeed. The arrow hit it in the gut but rather surprisingly the Goblin remained standing, though the green humanoid clearly looked near death. Aun felt the temptation to finish it off with a second arrow but making sure the others weren't overwhelmed was more important.
Aun swiftly knocked two arrows at the same time and fired at two Goblins at the same time. The one that Dervla had engaged and one that was charging at Brielle. Those two weren't fighters like the brutish human or Taksaka were. The two arrows flew at the same time yet with pin point accuracy her shot did not miss. One arrow sticking to the leg of one Goblin and the other one on the right shoulder.

| Already two of the goblins had been killed. When one of the surviving came after her she nimbly dodged it's rusty blade. Both Brielle and her attacking goblin paused for a moment as one of Aun's arrows pierced it's green hide. With it distracted still, the cat woman sliced it with one of her knives to counter.
The battle seemed to be in their favor as the sneak attack had prevented the goblins to send for reinforcements. Smart planning on Taksaka's part, though that's probably one of the reason's he's the Representative of her people. The battle told stories about the group she didn't notice at first. Rowan was definitely someone to watch out for on this mission; Brielle had seen that look he had countless times in the eyes of dungeon delvers who tried double-crossing her.

Without giving him a second to think, two ugly-faced goblins dashed towards Rowan’s position. One from the right, one from the left, they both jumped towards the warrior carrying what seemed like small wooden daggers. Well...Not so much daggers as broken spear tips that the small monsters had repurposed. Having close to no time to react, Rowan was pierced in his shoulders by the tips of the small spike,s and left with the two assailants dangling on his back.
"That fucking hurt, you damn bastards!"- Ignoring the pain, he pulled off both the spear tips, and proceeded to jump on his back, squashing his enemies. While they were still dazed by the strike, Rowan began slashing them incessantly.
