Wulfric pointed his face skyward, closed his eyes and breathed deeply through his nostrils. His keen sense of smell picked up little but the scent of the grass growing all around him, the sap of the tree he currently leaned against and a faint wafting of pollen from a patch of wildflowers nearby.
The Mage may have found a new appreciation for the city he now called home in his new capacity as Second, but leaving it all behind like this still gave him a sense of unburdening. Even if he was here on official business.
The Fang of the Beastfolk was the only person around, despite standing beside a reasonably busy road, being as he was several miles away from Ba’Dagar. A few hundred feet further along this route and he would reach a small town, a town within a reasonable distance of the foothills of the Draconian mountains and the source of several of the recent reports of Elemental sightings.
This was his chosen rendezvous point for his expedition. He would meet the rest of his team, as it was, outside of the town they were to set out from. The extra time it took to reach the settlement would give him time to get acquainted with this Usagi and, he must admit, waiting under the shade of a tree in silence like this was preferable to meeting in some small village inn.
Opening his eyes Wulfric looked upwards towards the sun. The tree canopy above him shielded him from the worst of its glare but still allowed him to track how much progress it had made across the sky this morning. It was almost time. Assuming his companion arrived on scheduled.
