appearance, The most shocking feature of Dorothea is her unique eyepatch, as it simultaneously functions as a hair band and a way to keep her, defect, hidden. Her brown hair flows nearly flawlessly from head. She picks her clothing to accentuate her natural gifts. Her gifts are part of her and she'd be a fool not to show them off. | personality, Dorothea is someone you don't want to mess with. While on the surface she might seem sarcastic and shallow about everything, including her body, she will not hesitate to put you in your place about anything. Despite her vivacious appearance, Dorothea is a cynical pragmatist. Due to recent events she casts her gaze on the world And sees the worst. She has taken it upon herself to fix the world's problems as she finds them. |
history,
The tragic history of the Prevedell family was replayed scene for scene in Dorothea's life. Her great-great-great-grandfather Tommen Prevedell and his wife May were the most famous adventuring duo of all time. Their adventures were great enough that they were both canonized as heroes at one point. That was their downfall. Tommen had wanted more power than he had and secretly made a pact with a powerful phantasm. Rose found out and immediately told the Church of Dragoon about the horrible crime her husband had committed. Before he could be dragged out and sentenced, Tommen ran, killing his wife and all but one of their children.
The Prevedell family never lived that shame and when Dorothea Rose was born, it had all but destroyed the Prevedell family. She decided it would end with her as soon as she could make that vow. For years, Dorothea through herself into training as a swordswoman, joined the Andorian city guard and eventually was even made guard captain. Then she met him. Johan. The man became everything to her, to the point that she was on the verge of throwing away her life's work just to be with him. It was tragically short-lived however.
On the eve of their wedding, Dorothea discovered that her fiance was a pact-mage. She confronted him about it. He denied her claims until her evidence was overwhelming. He promised to break his pact as soon as he could. For her love of him, Dorothea believed Johan. The next day during the wedding ceremony he was saying his vows and, without notice, produced a hidden blade. At the end of the wedding, as he leaned forward to kiss his bride, he whispered those fateful words to her. "I"m sorry, I can't." Shocked, Dorothea barely had enough time to knock the knife away from him. The wedding guests were all shocked as the new husband and wife fought each other at the alter. The duel was over when Dorothea grabbed hold of the knife and declared her husband a monster. As she stabbed him, he cast a phantasmal spell that struck one of her eyes, effectively blinding her.
With her husband dead and her heart broken, Dorothea threw herself into her work. A few months after, Dorothea was approached by a man who claimed to be from the government. He offered her the position of one of the Human Representative's Seconds, specifically the Right Hand. He told her of how much more good she could do in a position of power such as that. With some thought, Dorothea Rose Prevedell accepted.
