your company would make the restless nights eaiser to bare He had no idea how difficult this task was going to be for him, but it was something that needed to be taken care of regardless of the risk to his life. If the firestarter was left uncapture he could burn the entire forest, and taken countless lives with him. Besides the woods also helped to keep the monsters from running amok within the city, so they were really threatening to end the entire Cydonian City as a whole.
He was of course the first person to arrive on the scene, golden armor freshly polished and shining thanks to the brief amount of sunlight that escaped from cover of the treetops. His sword was strapped to his waist and following along aside him was the Mountain Lion he had bought a week ago and had be doing some rather intensive training with. After all if the cat was going to be his partner for many upcoming situations that he'd face it would need to know how to read Valek's movements, and obey his ever word. They were doing okay so far.
The two of them stopped moving when they came to a pile of ash, the location of the latest fire started by this arsonist. It was surprising close to the city and that meant they were getting braver with their attacks, and who knows how long it be before he actual hit the city with his fire. Another major concern that the city had, aside from the lost of their pretty forest. Valek placed his hand on Ezekiel's back and let out a bit of a sigh, "All we can do now is wait for the others, hopefully they show up soon. I want to get this over with quickly, a lady at the pub is calling my name."

"Well, in that case, we must end this matter without delay, at any cost. There's nothing worse than keeping a lady waiting." Stepping out near the ashpile, Savas looks over at his subordinate, then bends down to pet the cat that was walking beside the younger man. “Though, are you sure two kitties won't be too much for you to handle?”
Looking over at the aftermath of the burn, Savas sighs. “These are definitely the work of an arsonist. No natural fire burns like this...at least, not as close as we are to a stream.” The ash seemed to cross what would normally have been a very effective firebreak, in a way that even someone who wasn't an experienced Scout could tell was fishy. “The problem is, where do we go from here? Unless we're expecting the villain to return to the scene of the crime...”

Trying to move faster than what his age allowed was a challenge. The woods were trickier than normal roads, and moving through them tired the elder more than he'd care to admit. Pacing through the terrain, his staff serving as a cane, the old man was followed closely by a bear-sized sand monster. This specific sand monster was currently quite concerned about his master's health, having tried to carry him a couple of times before only to receive a lecture from the aging mage.
"U-Uhm...I have arrived! Forgive my delay!"
Although ashamed of his tardiness, the mage couldn't help but silently bite his lip as he wittnessed the woods named after his hometown in such a sad state.

your company would make the restless nights eaiser to bare The first to arrive on the scene was Savas, and honestly Valek had expected him to be the second one to arrive. He didn't have anything against Absalom but he knew the chief mage was an old elf, and thus probably had trouble getting around. Then again his father was an old too and he could kick Valek's ass all sorts of ways, so one could never really tell. "Oh there are worse things than keeping a lady waiting, like failing to please." he gave a wide smile and followed it after words with a laugh. This really wasn't a time for jokes though, they had a job to do and one that could take Dragoon knows how long. "Ezekiel here is a ladies man himself, he had quite the harem of kitties when I bought him." as if to confirm this the cat let out a small roar. That was quickly replaced by a purr when Savas began to pet him, petting was one of the few extra perks of being a tamed lion now.
The relaxed nature of the conversation ended when Savas began to speak on the matters of the fires, and how they wouldn't have burned so well this close to the stream. The knight gave a nod of his head, "Which makes this matter even more troubling. It's either a mage or a Phantasm, and quite honestly I'm not looking forward to either." mages were a pain in the ass to fight. They never had to get close to their targets in order to attack, and for someone like Valek was quite troublesome. Plus if its was Pact Mage things would only get worse, because then they'd have to deal with its master as well. "They never go to same place twice, so I don't think we have to worry about them returning here."
Shortly after he finished talking the last member of their party made his way onto the scene, the mage of the group. Absalom. "You're not late at all, Savas actually just get here himself." Valek gave the older elf a smile, "Besides I wouldn't mind waiting, a chance to work with a mage of your level is an honor." Absalom was the chief mage of Dracon, and that wasn't a title one gained so easily. "I have an idea of where to start guys, one of the guards who put out the fire told me he saw a strange glowing figure making its way north from this location. I figure we keep heading that way until we spot something strange? Maybe signs of ash?" it wasn't the best plan, but at least it was something.

Savas nods. "Clearly, it's not of natural origin, whatever the cause. What it does tell us, though, is the user isn't ordinary, which could be very relevant in the time to come."
Turning over as the old mage shows up, he grins. "Why, if it isn't the old codger. Glad to see you made it! Hope Dracon's treating you well." He wasn't nearly as respectful of the older mage's station, though he was obviously being friendly. He'd seen Absalom around every now and then as a child, and silently wondered if he was recognized from those days.
As Valek explains the lead he has, Savas' grin turns into a smile. "Well now, that's some good news! Mister Absalom, could you find anything specific about the arsonist using your skills? Otherwise, I believe we should proceed North with all due haste."
