It's Better To be Hurt Than to hurt others
Silver taps his foot impatiently on the damp sand, waiting for Alice to arrive. He had been stressing about his family again, and had agreed to meet Alice at the Marshy Coast to discuss matters, for she had gone into the next town over to run some errands.
He sighed again; she was always doing this. Making him wait for her.
The silver haired boy looked out into the horizon; it was a really beautiful day, he thought. If only Alice were here on time, then this would have been a great day.
"What are you thinking about?" A girl appeared next to Silver, startling him out of his wits. He tended to do that sometimes; space-out.
He blinked. The girl seemed to be human, showing no signs of being either beastfolk nor elf. She seemed about his age, around 16, and could have been a warrior, from her attire. The girl was wearing armor, and was holding a spear in one hand, leaning on it as she stares at Silver.
"Just how nice the day was."
The girl nodded her head, the two blonde braids bobbing with her, before she turned and looked out towards the landscape. "It is a lovely day."
Yeah, it was.
Where was Alice?
The blonde girl plopped down onto the ground, dropping her spear next to her.
Silver continued to look at the horizon, at the soft waves crashing into the rocks far out, sneaking glances at her through the corners of his amber eyes; who was she?
A breeze passed by them, whipping their hair around.
Silver almost felt at peace, before beginning to worry about his family again. He hadn't been gone long; a few months, since he last saw them but he had never been apart from his parents for so long before. He wondered what they were thinking about. Are they well? Was father getting better?
Although this travelling thing was originally meant for Silver to get rid of his worries, at some points, his worries had gotten worse. Alice had told him to relax, or this whole 'vacation' would go to waste. And he did try to have fun, and it was.
Silver had begun to feel homesick, and asked Alice to bring him home to visit his family early; she had refused.
He sighed for what felt like the millionth time that day, forgetting that the young blonde was still sitting next to him. "What's the matter?"
He looked down to see that the girl hadn't taken her eyes of the view of the water while she asked him a question. "I am waiting for a friend, but she's late. Again." Alice was always late when it came to Silver, but for anyone else, she was on time. Silver always grumbled about that.
"Ah. One of the things I hate is when people are late." The girl stood up, shook her head, and introduced herself for the first time. "Sorry, I didn't even say my name," she looked at Silver, "it's-"
"Hey!" A boy had run up to the blonde girl and pulled her along with him as he ran back towards town, "we're gonna be late!" The boy looked like the exact copy of the girl, though gender-bent. The young female looked apologetically at Silver as she was dragged along. "Sorry! Gotta run!"
Silver just gave a small wave before turning towards the sea once again. Alice better get here soon.
He wondered if anyone else would come by before Alice does.

Sasha took a deep breathe, inhaling deeply and feeling the salty tang in the air fill her lungs. She knew the world outside her home would be different but she never imagined not even the air would be the same; she could taste the difference here on her tongue, sharp but somehow cleaner for it, and invigorating. The sea had been something she’d always wanted to see for herself and had always planned to make the coast one of her first stops after leaving home. So now here she was, standing at the edge of the continent and looking out at miles and miles of glittering blue salt water. It was even bigger than she’d imagined. She had plenty more to see beside this, miles more to go before she was satisfied that she’d seen and done everything that she had read about in those stories as a child; then she had to go even further than that, to do things that nobody had ever done, see things nobody could imagine. Even so, she could see herself returning here several times between now and then, revisiting this moment. It really was a beautiful sight and she was just romantic enough that she liked looking out at the horizon and wondering what lay beyond it. Maybe she’d sail there herself one day and find out? That would be quite some time away though. "Sorry! Gotta run!" A voice, female and young, pulled Sasha away from her daydreaming and back to the present. She turned around to see a girl a few years younger than herself being dragged reluctantly away from a silver haired man by what was presumably her brother. She watched the pair for a moment, adventurers by the look of their attire and equipment, of somewhere important. Sasha thought about following them; if they were going hunting or to explore some cave or tomb then she wanted to be a part of it. Instead she turned back to the young man with silver hair; maybe it was the strange colouration of his hair, or maybe it was the look on his face, but something about him piqued her interest. He looked to be around her age and as well as his strange hair he had strange clothing. He was staring out at the sea, same as she had been, but his expression was a lot more sombre than she imagined her own was. He was intriguing enough that Sasha felt the desire to walk over to him and introduce herself, so she could get to know more about him. Walking over she stood in front of him, a little off to the side, not quite blocking his view but definitely making herself noticeable. “You look like a lost soul in need of some guidance.” She flashed him a winsome smile and raised her hands and arms in an exaggerated shrug. “Or maybe you just look bored and need cheering up. Either way, I’m here to help.” ---- Tag: Silver

Keen azure-white eyes observed the scene from a distance, in strive to discern an opening to strike. A beast concealed behind the camouflage of... absolutely nothing, she stood at a heightened elevation onlooking the beach. At first she had planned to go hunting, in a way what she was planning to do could still be considered as such, this man was now her prey; the girl was not ever one to pass up such a great opportunity when it had been so favorably presented to her. Aria didn't like to steal unless she had to, but she had to get by somehow. Survival first before everything. Unfortunately she had missed many opportunities before now, either a random person would conveniently be passing by or would start up conversation with him. Otherwise she would have had ample chances, the silver haired guy appeared to enjoy daydreaming a lot. Her feline ears flickered in mild ill temper at the sight of yet another person approaching him. Aria snarled, the impatience growing on her face, she couldn't help but mutter to herself. "Nobody can just mind their own damn business, can they?" It was true, at least for this town. Earlier in the day many people had asked of her business and every time she would disregard their presence, whilst in her mind cursing their intrusive questions. Even if she had answered what could she have said? Told the truth or lied for their unwanted sympathy? 'I'm broke and have been sleeping without a roof over my head for the next week or so'? Although, that was the truth of her situation. She considered herself lucky enough to stumble upon this person, who wore garb decorative enough to have at least enough gold on him to let her stay at an inn for a single night. Though Aria had been waiting for her chance to rob him for quite awhile now, she took her eyes off him for a moment to observe the glittering blue ocean. If it weren't for her empty stomach, then maybe she could also admire it for as long as he had; it was truly a beautiful and captivating sight. Aria shook her head and directed her attentions back to her objective, there would surely be an opening sooner or later... yet all this waiting was far too tedious. The girl grit her teeth. "Enough of this" On that spoken thought she burst in to a sprint, using one foot to balance herself as she slid down the bank. Her steps muffled by the sand, the desperate girl drew her hunting knife and barged past the blonde in her way moreover to pivot around her target. Once behind him she introduced her knife to his neck, quick to give them both the order. "Don't move" Using her free hand she swiftly delved into both of his pockets in search of anything resembling a coin purse.

[attr="class","reptile"]The wind was merciless to Alice as she flew, batting her wings against the wind as rapidly as possible. Water droplets were forming on her face due to condensation but they trickled away as soon as they take shape because of the high speed Alice was flying at. The tempestuous air threatened to throw the white-haired girl off course, even with all three pairs of her wings working their butts off.
The girl had agreed to meet Silver after taking care of some trifling matter. She had made plans for the day that they were going to spend together. Since Alice was always busy with work, she barely spent any quality time with Silver, who was like her little brother and the closest thing to family she has. They were going to meet up, do some catching up and maybe even have a few drinks. It would be the kind of family outing ordinary folks have. The girl had it all planned in her head, but what was not in her plans for the day was the weather.
The rain battering down from above was soaking her to the bones. Her clothes were completely wet as well, there was even rainwater that found its way into her boots, soaking her from the inside out. Alice wasn't really bothered by the cold but the wetness was what annoyed her to no end. Without the help of magic, she would probably have to use the traditional and troublesome way to dry her clothes. And how could she present herself in front of Silver like that, wet as if she had just came out from a swim in the sea. Which is ironic since their agreed meeting place is near the ocean.
Alice sighed mentally, why can't she just have a normal day out with Silver? There was always one thing or another that came in the way of her getting to Silver. Resisting the urge to mentally sigh again, Alice wondered if it was the 'curse' that made her unable to hang out with Silver. She pushed those unpleasant thoughts aside when the clouds started to get thinner and whiter, and the rain started to dissipate. Once she get out of this, she should be able to see Silver at their designated meeting place.
She accelerated a little more and spotted a silver speck on the ground, along with a yellow dot and a blue splotch. She decreased her altitude and the colour spots on the ground became clearer and more identifiable as several people. She was pretty sure the pale-haired boy was Silver but the sky-blue haired person close to him seemed to be doing something inappropriate to her almost-little brother. The closer she got, the more Alice was certain that the beastfolk who had her body pressed so near to Silver was indeed doing something out of order to Silver in public.
A protective instinct built up inside her and Alice resisted to urge to just swoop down and deliver a flying dropkick to the stranger that was being overly-familiar with Silver. She told herself to calm down and not judge things by the way it looks, there's probably more to it than what she's thinking, but what if it's not?
Alice shook her head frantically to get those thoughts out of her head as she got really close to the trio on the ground that they would probably notice her presence. She floated down towards the sand, quickly folding her wings, making dust fly around her as she made her landing, thus, creating the illusion of a badass angel descending from heaven.
The bat-winged girl made her way towards Silver and the others, her still-wet hair and clothes dripping droplets of water on the sandy ground and put on her cold and professional face as she properly made her presence be known.
"I have arrived, Silver. A little late than the scheduled time but before you complain about that, I would like to know what on Terra Heroum is going on here."

It's Better To Be Hurt Than To Hurt Others
After the pair of twins left, Silver turned back towards the sea. It seemed that there was a storm in the distance, and it seemed to be coming this way. Did Alice get stuck in it?
An image of Alice flying in the rain, soaking wet with a pissed off face made him laugh internally. Alice hated getting wet, and it is no surprise that she would be red in the face when she arrived. Silver would be laughing his tail off if that happened.
He heard footsteps approaching from farther out, with his abnormal hearing, he wasn't too far in dreamland that he didn't notice another young blonde walking up to him.
“You look like a lost soul in need of some guidance.” She flashed him a winsome smile and raised her hands and arms in an exaggerated shrug. “Or maybe you just look bored and need cheering up. Either way, I’m here to help.”
Silver blinked, uncomprehending the situation. "Um..."
Though Silver had more to say, he felt a blade being pressing onto his neck, and someone searching his pockets, "Don't move."
The person seemed to be a girl, from her scent and her build, along with her very obvious female voice.
Silver was still in shock, but then, just as he was going to do something to get her off him, maybe judo flip her or something, something fell from the sky --Alice.
As the sand settled back down on the ground, Alice rose up, looking at the three, "I have arrived, Silver. A little late than the scheduled time but before you complain about that, I would like to know what on Terra Heroum is going on here."
Ha, Silver thought, smiling a little, she was caught in the rain.

Sasha continued to smile through Silver’s less than enthusiastic response to her introduction, oblivious to his hesitance. Her expression faltered slightly when someone barged past her suddenly, forcing her eyes down to the ground as she regained her balance. The happiness she felt disappeared entirely when she looked back up to see the knife held to the boy’s throat and the desperate face of the young Beastfolk girl holding it.
"Don't move"
She was slow to react, the unexpected situation throwing her, but as the girl’s free hand began searching through the boy’s pockets she quickly understood. Instinctively she clenched her fists at her side, preparing for a fight without even thinking about it.
How bold this young girl was to try and rob someone in broad daylight like this, right in front of Sasha. How unfortunate she was that Sasha was born to a former city guard who had raised her better than to let criminals get away with their crimes.
She swept her eyes up and down the two entwined figures before her, trying to judge the size and strength of the girl, how close the blade was being held to the skin of the silver haired boy’s neck, how tightly the girl clutched the hilt; all things that might help her in the next few seconds.
Her gauntlets were not on her hands, being left back at the inn with the rest of her belongings, which was both a blessing and a curse. Without the armour they provided she would not be able to block the knife should this turn ugly, but having her hands uncovered also freed her to disarm the girl without any need to cause her harm.
She took a step forward, prepared to charge the girl before she knew what hit her, when a sudden gust of wind and a cloud of dust heralded the arrival of someone else. Turning her eyes without moving her head Sasha took in the new arrival, before stopping in her tracks and turning to fully give her attention to the being that just descended from the sky.
"I have arrived, Silver. A little later than the scheduled time but before you complain about that, I would like to know what on Terra Heroum is going on here."
The figure, who appeared to know the hostage in this situation, was certainly the most striking Beastfolk Sasha had ever seen; the most striking anything if she thought about it. She had never seen a Beastfolk with such unusual features, nor was she aware that they could possess features from multiple creatures. She didn’t look like a typical Beastfolk at all, she looked special.
Of all the amazing sights I dreamt I’d see, this was certainly not one of them.
The sudden arrival had been enough to distract from what she was about to do but the question, even though it was not directed at her, was enough to remind her of the situation at hand.
“You’re, ah… you’re friend is being mugged.”
She looked again at the young girl with the bright hair, looking more closely at the girl herself, at her less than clean clothing and messy hair. She looked a little ragged, tired and worn, and Sasha wondered if she had slept recently. There was a hint of desperation there to, something that told Sasha that this was more than just a crime of opportunity.
A pang of sympathy for the girl shot through her. Suddenly it didn’t seem right to try and fight her. Unfolding her fists Sasha retreated back the step she had advanced earlier, trying to relax her body and her expression to look as non-threatening as possible.
Not all crime was committed out of greed or evil, she remembered being told, sometimes people were just desperate or unfortunate enough that they believed it was their only option.
Turning her head to face the unusual Beastfolk girl Sasha flashed a smile she hoped was reassuring.
“I don’t know who you are but do you mind letting me handle this? I know a thing or two about this kind of situation.”
If she stretched the truth any further then it would likely break altogether, but it wasn’t as if she was entirely misleading. Her father was a former city guard, that was true, and he had told her stories about situations like this. She had trained with her town’s militia, this was also true, but she had never become a member and was only there for the combat training. Anything she knew about defusing a hostage situation came from barely remembered childhood stories and half listened to lectures her father gave to everyone else while she continued to practise.
Locking eyes with the would-be mugger Sasha tilted her lips upwards into a small, friendly smile and began to speak in a calm, level tone. She needed this girl to believe she wasn’t in danger, the new arrival might have spooked her and if she felt like she was at risk then she might do something they would all regret with that knife of hers.
“I’m not going to move. But, I would like to speak with you. I don’t know why you are doing this or what you thought was going to happen, but I don’t think this is going to work out the way you want it to.”
Her words were less than reassuring and could even be taken as a threat, but as much as Sasha wanted this girl to feel at ease, and most of all not reckless, she also wanted this girl to realise that this wasn’t going to work out for her.
“You haven’t done anything wrong yet. You haven’t hurt anybody, or stolen anything. If you were to leave things as they are now nobody here would have any reason to follow you.”
Sasha flicked a quick glance at the bat-winged beastfolk beside her. Hopefully she would agree that the safe return of her companion was fair payment for letting the girl go, otherwise she might end up having to fight someone after all.
“My name is Sasha. Can you tell me yours?”

With deft hands it did not take but a few moments to search the mans pockets, though the results were not what the girl had been expecting or wanted. The pockets of this man were empty, the shock of this revelation clear on her face. It did not take but a moment for her expression to turn sour, eyes quivering to fight back her tears of desperation. Aria turned her attention to the blonde who she had rushed past seconds ago, her nonchalant face suggested she was confident enough she could free her hostage at any moment.
In belief that this man was her only bargaining chip to leave the situation unscathed, she exposed her fangs in frustration and secured the grip on her knife whilst pressing it closer to the mans neck. Under normal circumstances Aria would not have the stomach to kill someone like this, but in her survivalist state of mind she would do anything to ensure she stayed alive and unshackled. She made this perfectly clear by glaring daggers at the taller woman.
Given her fragile sanity from lack of sleep the girl was fully prepared to puncture this mans throat, as the blonde appeared ready to make a move regardless, when something had descended from the skies at a fast enough rate to kick the beach sands into the air. On impulse Aria turned to see what it was, and frowned when she noticed it was yet another person.
She could have been surprised at her sudden entrance or unusual appearance, if only it weren't for her dire situation; another person only meant more trouble for her, furthermore this beastfolk seemed to know her hostage.
It was just her luck, so far Terra Heroum had not been the continent of adventure she had heard in stories from her homeland isle. She hadn't been on the landmass for a month, yet all sorts of misfortunes piled up on her; it just wasn't fair, she couldn't hold back this frustration anymore as her eyes began to water.
Aria listened with half an ear as they attempted to negotiate for her hostage, silent up until the point she was asked her name. How pointless it all was, in the end all they wanted was her hostage, of course they wouldn't give a damn what her name was. The way she talked reminded her of other people who had scammed and robbed her, they all wanted something from her. Sadly she hadn't been taught how to survive in society, only the wilderness, which made her an easy target to be taken advantage of. Many people passed by and watched when she was being robbed, yet did nothing.
It was a kind of betrayal of her trust Aria had never experienced growing up, and in order to cope with it she had learned not to trust or care for anyone. Her feline ears lowered as tears streamed down her face, after a moment of silence the girl heavily grit her teeth then shoved the hostage away from her using her free hand.
"Curse you all"
A tone of voice caught between anguish and misery, laced with anger.

[attr="class","reptile"]The Claw of Beastfolk was used to being in control of things, so it was slightly unnerving for her when she was set aside like that and told to just watch while someone else handled the situation. The girl of course, did not show any of that, or the shame she felt when she arrogantly thought that only she could handle things. Alice was also embarrassed about the absurd misassumption she had made about the beastfolk girl possibly hitting on Silver, while the truth was so far from it. I mean, Silver is such a hopeless romantic, it's not possible if you think about it.
Back to what's happening around her, Alice almost flinched when she saw how close the blue-haired beastfolk's fangs were to Silver's neck, she could easily puncture his skin in mere seconds. The Claw would not show it, but she was freaking out internally, Silver was one of the few things in the world that she treasures and she couldn't bare to lose him.
The aqua-haired girl could only be described as desperate, and the Claw knows that desperate people do unexpected things, Alice would have to handle this very carefully. It appears diplomacy is not going to work from the blonde's attempt, Alice was considering using force to render the beastfolk girl useless when the girl suddenly shoved Silver away with a "Curse you all!" that tugged at Alice's insides.
It was not the words that stirred the usually emotionless beastfolk, it was the tone of it that made Alice's old memoriesーthe ones she buried down so deep that no one could reachーresurface. Situationwise, Alice was sure it was different but the emotions were definitely similar if not identical. The Corpse Princess could still recall the angst and agony she felt, mixed with a hatred for the whole world and everyone in it like it was yesterday.
There was no way Alice could leave someone who might be feeling the same thing she felt alone. She was sure that the beastfolk girl was not evil at heart, but was driven to the point of commiting acts of evil because of her situation. The Claw believed that there's definitely some story behind the voice that was laced with so much painful emotions.
Trusting the blonde human to take care of Silver, Alice moved, quickly and quietly. She took two huge steps forward and grabbed the girl before she could escape. Alice made sure to slap the knife away and stay out of range of those fangs and hands that are bound to have claws. Alice figured she could win easily, since the girl seemed to be malnourished and exhausted, she shouldn't have much strength left.
In case the girl had a last spurt of adrenaline, Alice was prepared to have her own blood spilled if it meant helping the blue-haired girl. Tak-sama had always told her to help someone in need, regardless of who they are as long as someone needs help, she'd do almost anything.
Alice leaned in close to the girl and spoke, struggling slightly to find the right words while mustering as much sincerity as she could into her speech, hoping it would reach her.
"Listen, I don't want to hurt you and I won't. But you need to calm down and listen to me, and trust me when I say I understand what you're going through right now. Let me help you."
There was a pause.
"Please."
The word felt foreign and awkward when Alice mouthed it, but the voice that came out was unmistakable. It was too late to turn back now, Alice had already said the word. She wasn't one to plead and she could probably count the times she had said please in her life with just her fingers but the Claw felt some sort of attachment to this beastfolk girl and she wanted to do everything she could to save her.
I don't even know her name, for Hero's sake.
Maybe that was too arrogant of her, to think that she could be someone's savior, but Alice couldn't care less.

"Your, ah... Your friend is being mugged." The blonde girl had informed Alice. Silver wanted to roll his eyes, but he was in a life threatening situation, and was more focused on not getting his head chopped off.
“I don’t know who you are but do you mind letting me handle this? I know a thing or two about this kind of situation.” The blonde had turned to Alice when she had said this, and he wanted to laugh. Alice usually did things herself and was probably not used to being bossed around by anyone other than Taksaka.
The blonde female looked at the person behind Silver, and spoke in a calm tone with a smile on her face, "I’m not going to move. But, I would like to speak with you. I don’t know why you are doing this or what you thought was going to happen, but I don’t think this is going to work out the way you want it to.
“You haven’t done anything wrong yet. You haven’t hurt anybody, or stolen anything. If you were to leave things as they are now nobody here would have any reason to follow you.”
The blonde glanced at Alice for a quick moment before saying, "My name is Sasha. Can you tell me yours?"
The reaction the female behind Silver made wasn't something the blonde must have expected, for she had shoved Silver away from her, making him fall into the slightly damp sand.
Silver had caught sight of the female that had attempted to mug him, though he was completely broke since Alice took all his money, and saw tears streaming down her pale and skinny face. She looked so brittle, so tiny; she needed food, so that was probably why she had tried to rob Silver. Her blue hair was disheveled, and she seemed to be a beastfolk with a cat heritage, with her ears.
"Curse you all." Her voice was a mix of all emotions, but the power of the statement had brought shivers to his spine.
Before he knew what was happening, Alice had grabbed the blue-haired girl, and said something in a quiet voice. Silver could only hear a few words but he got the gist. Alice was also one to help those in need, and the blue-haired beastfolk seemed to need a lot of help.
Silver was still lying on the ground, and he slowly rose, his front completely covered in sand. That is going to be a pain in the tail to clean later.
"I just wanted to eat some eggs in peace..." Silver muttered dejectedly; even though he knew there were those who needed more food than him, Silver was hungry. And Alice had promised eggs.
The male beastfolk wanted to laugh. That was just a life-or-death situation, and he couldn't do anything. And he was thinking about food.
Getting up from the ground, Silver caught sight of the ocean; it is a beautiful day.

Sasha was at a loss when she saw the streams of tears begin to work their way down the girls face, her cat-like ears drooping; she hadn’t expected this reaction and wasn’t sure what it heralded, but had the feeling that she had only made things worse by trying to talk her way through this situation.
The Beastfolk grit her teeth, baring her sharp fangs in the process, and Sasha felt her body tense in anticipation. She would never forgive herself if she let something happen now, when she had so confidently stated she could handle it all by herself, but she still did not want to do anything to hurt this girl if she could help it. If the girl made a move to hurt her hostage she would act to stop it and make sure nobody got hurt, even if she had to grab the knife by the blade to do so.
When movement came however it wasn’t from the girl but the boy as he was shoved forward. Taken by surprise Sasha hesitated, reaching to catch the boy too late and instead simply holding out a hand pointlessly as the silver-haired male flopped into the damp sand.
I’m having a really off day today.
Sasha stepped forward and bent to one knee in the sand to help him up, but he was already lifting himself by the time she got there. At least he seemed unhurt and surprisingly, at least judging by his face, more concerned with the state of his clothing than his own neck.
Looking up Sasha saw that the winged girl was approaching the mugger and when she saw the former casually slap the knife out of the feline girl’s limp grip she was almost ready to intervene on the poor girl’s behalf. When the winged girl began to speak however, her voice was tinged with enough sad sincerity that Sasha just listened instead.
The words were heartfelt, if nothing else, and hopefully that would get through to the girl even if the message didn’t. For the time being Sasha just relaxed, fairly sure she wouldn’t have to fight soon and certain that nobody had any more need of her questionable diplomatic abilities.
“Well, look’s like I’m not needed anymore.”
"I just wanted to eat some eggs in peace..."
Confident that no one was paying any attention to her anyway, Sasha just rolled her eyes at that comment. This boy needed to get his priorities in order.

Aria existed in silence as the other two stood, taken aback when she had released the hostage. The girl herself didn't know why she had given him up, why she would give up her only chance of getting out of this unscathed, all she knew was that she was now vunerable. Her survivalist instincts screamed at her to run from them, to fight them, or to do something other than simply stand. It was a fruitless arguement with herself, all she could do was stand and glare with the same detestation she shared for the rest of the world.
It was the sound of damp sand being crushed beneath feet, the first footstep being made, that alerted Aria back to her senses and granted her the final burst of adrenaline she would need to escape. Aria turned, in her desperate attempt to rush into a sprint she stumbled, and in that moment she was seized by her wrist; normally she would have been able to keep the grasp on her knife, though due to her malnourishment the pain of being grappled so suddenly forced her to let go.
Fangs and claws fully exposed, the girl lashed back at her captor with a snarl. Her expression resembled that of a cornered and desperate animal, ready to lunge at this girls neck with what little strength she had left. The feline was merely less than a foot from puncturing her captors pale neck with her fangs, having grasped at a piece of their clothing with her free hand, when a single word was breathed into her ear.
"Listen,"
On impulse she had stopped, in a bout of confusion she raised her head to face the taller beastfolk, a face of dirt and sore eyes from excessive weeping.
"I don't want to hurt you and I won't. But you need to calm down and listen to me, and trust me when I say I understand what you're going through right now. Let me help you."
Tears again began to well up in the corners of her eyes, not because of the words said but rather the sincerity in which they were spoken. They were the most genuine words Aria had heard from anyone since landing on Terra Heroum. She bit her lower lip in frustration, unable to fully discern if this was yet another ploy or if she spoke the honest truth.
"Please."
She felt her heart skip a beat at that moment. How heartfelt that word sounded, it was unmistakable.
For once, these words were real.
Aria could barely hold in all the angst she had kept to herself this whole time, she drew herself in closer to Alice with a subtle whimper. In agony she grit her teeth as hard as she could and tightened her grasp on her, the girl began to snivel uncontrollably in an attempt to hold it all back.
Though it was vain... she had no strength left after all, her cries only grew louder until she let herself go.
She now stood, wailing on the shoulder of this stranger.

[attr="class","reptile"]Alice let out an exhale that is the closest thing to a sigh of relief she would allow herself. Her tensed up face softened slightly, and what appeared to be the slightest hint of a smile materialised at the corners of Alice’s lips. Her arms encircled the fragile sobbing figure in an embrace. Despite how she now has a beastfolk she barely knew crying in her arms, Alice was beyond relief. She did it, she got through to Aria and now Aria won't have to carry all that weight alone anymore.
The Claw tried to send as much warmth as she could to the girl she was hugging, though that might not be so successful with the damp state she and her clothes are in. Alice murmured reassuring words to comfort the younger beastfolk and caressed those azure-coloured hair that were like the sky Alice knows so well.
Even though Alice's attention was directed at the beastfolk in front of her, she still heard what a certain silver-haired tiger beastfolk had said. She figured they might as well find somewhere where they could settle down and talk, and the beastfolk girl seemed in need of some nourishment as well.
“Come now, you’re all right, it’s all right now. Let’s find some place where we can rest and get you some food, and then we can talk about what exactly happened that left you in your current state.” Alice said softly to the girl, not wanting to frighten her. For reassurance, she patted the soft blue hair. Alice realised that that gesture was somewhat motherly, of all the things Alice thought she could be, it was never a mother, she didn’t even know she had that motherly side to her.
Alice of course had not forgotten about the presence of the human girl. The Claw of Beastfolk turned to the blonde human, and allowed the tiniest lift of the corners of her mouth. "As a thanks for being there for Silver when he was in trouble, would you like to join us for some food?" Alice paused for a second, as she tried to rack her brain for a name that matched with this person's pretty face, but of course, came up blank. "Ah, I apologize, I haven't asked your name yet. How rude of me, my name is Alice Zeta. May I have the pleasure of knowing yours?"

It's Better To Be Hurt Than To Hurt Others
As the blue-haired beastfolk started to cry, Silver had begun to walk towards the blonde human; to thank her, for if she had not been there, he might have died.
"Thank you, Miss, if it weren't for you, my chance of death would've been much higher." He thought one of the reasons the knife wasn't sliced through his throat was because she was there. It's always better to have a witness, someone had told him, especially a random one. Silver didn't quite understand that until he was older.
Just when her was about to introduce himself, Silver's ears caught the sound of Alice saying the word 'food', and when he turned to look at her, Alice had started talking to the human next to him.
"As a thanks for being there for Silver when he was in trouble, would you like to join us for some food?" Even though Silver looked normal on the outside, he was internally grinning like an idiot.
"Ah, I apologize," Alice said, causing Silver to pay attention again, "I haven't asked your name yet. How rude of me, my name is Alice Zeta. May I have the pleasure of knowing yours?"
That's right, he thought, I don't even know her name.
With so much going on, Silver had completely forgotten simple manners. As he waited for the blonde to reply to Alice's question, his stomach complained.
Eggs... Food.... anything... Silver could practically hear his stomach speaking to him. The white-haired boy blushed, incredibly noticeable on his pale cheeks.
"Shut up, stomach..."

Post by Sasha Rivello on Mar 26, 2015 16:44:50 GMT -5
It came as no surprise when the feline girl stopped struggling against the other Beastfolk and let the sincere words reach her; she didn’t look like she had much fight left in her to begin with and if nothing else that desperate energy had to give out eventually. Sasha hadn’t expected tears though, hadn’t expected the girl to clutch onto the older Beastfolk and begin to weep like a child much younger than she looked to be.
It made Sasha think again what could have happened to this girl to bring her to this point. She felt her sympathy for the girl grow as she watched her cry herself dry on the other girls shoulder.
She was caught up in these thoughts and so was taken a little aback when attention suddenly turned to her. Both the silver haired boy and winged girl were thanking her for her part in the events that had just transpired; the praise which she would normally accept made her feel uneasy since she felt certain she had contributed little on this occasion.
Still, she smiled at the offer of food, grin stretching wide across her face; free food was nothing to sniff at, nor was an invitation to a meal with interesting strangers whom she very much wanted to get to know. The white haired girl gave Sasha her name, a pretty name to put to her exotic appearance.
“Sasha Rivello, a pleasure to meet you. I can’t take much credit, Alice, not when you did all the work.”
It was simple good fortune that put her in this place in time to witness the attack; she could so easily have overlooked it entirely. What would have happened if she hadn’t have had that luck? Looking down at the aqua haired girl still crying, Sasha had to think that nothing too bad would have occurred. Most likely once she was done searching him, the feline would have left the boy without a scratch.
Speaking of the boy, Sasha heard him mutter something under his breath. Sensing something awry Sasha turned to look at him, noting the light blush tingeing his cheeks and faintly heard the grumblings of a discontented stomach. Noticing his hunger and his embarrassment Sasha’s smile took on a more amused angle.
“I’ll gladly join you for food however. Maybe we should hurry along before these two keel over.” Her smile faltered slightly once she realised what she had said. “Although, all joking aside, that might be a real concern.”
