This was the first delivery the shop had seen in a while, Eris had been moving the crates into the shop's store room. It had been a long time since the two of them had worked in the shop together, not since they had first returned upon the death of Joran's grandfather. Kairu felt like it was a life time ago since the pair had been on the road together, he had perched himself on top of the shop's counter and it was from there he watched her work. "Are you ok? Do you want a hand?" It was very rare Kairu worked, she seemed to bring out the best in him though.
He remembered the first time they had met, he had been selling fruit to a small village. On his way back he was attacked by a phantasm, she came out of nowhere and protected him from a rather large phantasm. It was not something he was likely to forget as long as he lived, Kairu had taken her in after that teaching her how to speak and even naming her. She had come on a long way since then, it was nice to see her settling into the work. He felt slightly guilty however, he himself had no way to make sure she had a roof over her head. Kairu himself had been sleeping in the shop, he had no idea where she stayed now he thought about it.

Carry box. Walk back. Pick up box. Carry it back. Rinse and repeat. The young warrior's head remained mostly empty, as usual when she was completing a task given to her. She found it a lot easier to carry out when she didn't think too hard about things. That only overcomplicated everything. Even she knew in her rather simple mind that she was the brawn of the group, and she was not worth much more than that . Kairu had always been the thoughtful one, and although he had done a decent job of educating her, he hadn't exactly been able to pass on his razor sharp wit and natural intelligence. Eris couldn't help but wonder if she was a completely different person before she lost all recall of her origins. Maybe she was smart? Maybe she was good at math? Maybe she could play the harp or something pointless like that? Eris shook the stray thoughts from her mind. Effortlessly, the young woman carried two crates that many full grown men would find an effort to shift. Kairu was passed out again. After a few more minutes of work, the beastfolk finally stirred and offered to assist her. ''No need.'' Eris nodded, barely acknowledging him. ''I appreciate the gesture, but these crates are so heavy they might break your fragile back. Ha-ha.'' Despite the monotone, this was Eris' best attempt at trying to joke with her friend. Of course, it came off dryly. She was yet to master the subtleties of sarcasm.

Kairu pouted slightly when she said he would put his back out, he did not think of himself as that scrawny and weak. He had never intended to lift the crates anyway, he cast a levitation spell on the crate she was holding. "We could stay here all day and you can lift crates... or we can get this job done quickly and go enjoy the nice sunny day outside." He smiled at her, she worked harder than anyone Kairu knew but at that thought a slight bit of sadness touched him. He knew she thought that she was only useful as the muscle of the operation, he had gotten far too use to having her around him that even if she didn't have her brawn then he would still find worth in her. He dragged himself out of such thought quickly, Kairu was never very good at expressing to people what he thought of them it was probably why he and Joran disagreed so much.
Kairu began moving the crates using his magic, he grinned at Eris. "It has been a while since the two of us have spent time together... since being on the road and everything, almost as if you were avoiding me." Kairu teased, he was bringing the crates down into the store room. He was unsure what was actually in the crates and how they had managed to afford whatever was in them, such things Kairu left to Joran now that he was capable enough of keeping tabs on the money.
